    Given the fact that they sold 20 million Quest2 as opposed to 317000 Quest1 I don't think that support will be stopped so fast. Many Quest1 users stepped up to the Quest2 or now even to the Quest3. I don't think that the Quest2 support will stop so soon. What I do believe is that some games will no longer support the Quest2, but only Quest3 or Quest3s.

    Makes sense to support the Q2 at least until Q3L drops. Also makes sense to stagger them about a year apart to catch all the early adopters who are willing to pay more and then a year later with the Q3L to get everyone else. Q2 had a good run, especially for its price. I don’t think many people will be complaining about having to upgrade to the Q3L.

    the issue I have is... This should not effect me because I prefore Virtual desktop but the issue is it does effect me as questy devs forget to give the PCVR versions of the games MR and hand tracking support... So I must buy then again on quest store to play the full version of the game... Which that version can be shut down and you locked out of on whim... Which to be fair so can Syeam VR versions but still.

    They'll support Quest 2 for a lot longer. 2 is still going strong today.

    Very good report. Skydance's Behemoth may be on quest 2 as well.... but we'll see. Like you said it's looking like most new games are skipping quest 2. I think they should be focusing on quest 4 and not quest 3s.

    At least with quest its the hardware losing support (not all the content). the worst thing about Oculus Go/Gear VR when it was winding down was that they just turned all the servers off so you didn't know what content was available for it until after you had forked out paid for it and started downloading it. It was only by it not installing, or installing, but having no back-end server that you knew you couldn't have that content anymore Even though it was right there on the Meta store. Thankfully it will probably be a while until we see that on the quest series.

    Hopefully they keep software update support for the Quest 2 for quite some time. But we shall see. 🤷‍♂They are definitely pushing the Quest 2 out.

    At this point, all you can hope for is Virtual Desktop to keep supporting the hardware. It's really up to the developers now. Hopefully this device can become jailbroken, so it won't become complete e-waste. Such a shame.
