Im a nurse in a nursing home and my patients are always concerned about their home, their home maintenance etc. when they should be concentrating on getting better their worried about who's going to take care of their home while they recover. My neighbor went into nursing home, her grandson continued mowing her yard. Then he got cancer. I mowed the yard a few times when she passed because he was so sick. All it took was an extra 45 min. His son thanked me and took over. Be good neighbors people.

My husband cuts our disabled neighbors grass. He was never asked. I admire that sense of respect he has for community.

There are people who throw their trash on to this old ladies property and than there are people like this guy who actually helps others without even knowing them. You remind me of my dad. When our next-door neighbor went into a nursing home, her family didn't keep up with her yard. Daddy started dragging our water hoses over to water her fruit trees and plants. He just knew how sad Mrs. L would be if her trees died. Thanks for showing this little place the love it deserves. I wonder if the neighbors might be inspired to showing this lady some love and keeping up with some maintenance. It sure inspires me!

You are SO KIND!!! Thank you!! We live in Orlando, Florida & my husband was hospitalized for 2 1/2 weeks during the summer. You know, everything grows fast in the summer, especially in Florida!!! I wasn't able to get to our lawn. My husband was VERY ILL & we weren't even sure if he would live. Instead of asking if I needed help two of my old, busy body neighbors called coding enforcement and I came home to find one of those same signs in our yard!!! I just went over & gave her the sign then told her how ill my husband was & "gee, thanks for inquiring first!! NOT!!!" She never talks to us anymore, hahaha!!! BUT... We help our other neighbors when they need help.

From the amount of soil deposited and the size of those trees I bet no one had really taken care of this place in 7-8 years.

I'm 66 years old, and I've worked in service my entire career. I have NEVER seen anyone work as hard. I admire you, and I feel there may be hope for this planet, after all.

I don’t know why neighbors aren’t neighborly anymore. When I was in back in Philly both of my next door neighbors were elderly who couldn’t do the outside maintenance. During the winters I would always shovel their steps and sidewalk while doing my own and in the summers I would always trim their front lawns along with mines. It only took an extra hour but at least they wouldn’t have to struggle for hours to do it themselves. Every single time they would either bring out hot coffee or hot cocoa for me and snacks or an ice cold drink. They were such sweethearts, I miss those days dearly.

These neighbors knew that this poor elderly woman was in a nursing home, yet they still let the city fine her. Being neighborly means helping each other out. Honestly, doesn't anybody have manners, anymore?! Kudos to you for doing this yard cleanup and setting an example! 💚
