Unimantic's growth potential is exciting, I can see why so many people are jumping on board.
  • Oh, I love you guys, the best market analysis! Seriously, why not mention Unimantic?
  • @hackjealousy
Ryan, pretending he doesn’t have “Mean Girls” memorized.
  • The reason for weightlessness at say the ISS, isn't lack of gravity, but that it is constantly falling (while going fast enough horizontally to keep missing the Earth). At the height of ISS’ orbit the gravity is still about 90% of that on Earth's surface.
  • Love the “300” reference…. ”fight in the shade” 😂😂😂😂
  • @chad2304
I love that Kristin’s first thought is always a Minecraft reference. Hole in the moon? “Someone’s mining for cobble” lol

18:21 making the science portion of the ACT exam optional. aka, how to produce a society of brainless animals that are easy to control !
  • Thanks for another great but existential questioning week!
  • 31:36 You guys are talking about Truck-kun. It's a trope in anime. Truck-kun is an Internet meme that refers to a common trope used in the isekai genre of anime, manga, and light novels, in which characters are transported to other worlds. Typically, the protagonists of the isekai anime or manga are sent to these worlds via reincarnation after death, and recently many isekai works have featured characters being transported upon being hit and killed by a truck. After several isekai works featured this as a means to kill their characters, a meme claiming the existence of a character named "Truck-kun"[a] spread. It is purported Truck-kun's role is to kill people in their original world and subsequently send them to a new one. -from the wiki
  • I was a lineman for an internet company. Nothing compared to those power guys -- they literally risk their lives far more often than I did. Anyone who disrespects a lineman is a scumbag.
  • I come here for the tech news, personalities but I keep coming back for Ryan's clever and smooth segue's.

I like how Wendell reinvented missiles in under a minute.
  • @grislyghost
"Your AI versus other AI," is exactly what I've been saying.
  • @dgo4490
So, we've had "AI" hype for several years now, and only now they are making the first steps to make it REASON? Shouldn't intelligence be a REASON FIRST, and perhaps even more preferable - REASON ONLY, and none of the statistically guided brute force random generator?

Someone who isn't me did mushrooms as a teen a handful of times. Someone who isn't me didn't eat many the first time, colors where very intense, almost saturated with high contrast. Certain colors like green seemed to have a slight glow. Someone who isn't me proceeded to listen to their two unaware friends have an argument over something stupid but it was a fantastic experience watching the friendly argument for no real reason. Later on in the future someone who isn't me said they had minor hallucinations like toys walking down the side walk, or hearing people talk in another room who where not home. Also pretty intense fatigue, always tired, minor walks from one side of the house to the other where very exhausting for some reason. A few years later someone who isn't me ate a good bit, and had intense hallucinations. Best described as a dream like state, where stuff just made sense for no reason, and you had no reason to question anything. They ended up tripping and having this dream like event where they where in the game Crisis. They lost all sense of reality as they knew it during this time. They later came down and had this weird feeling of this world not being real. Kinda like living your life than one day waking up only to find out after 40 years it was just some bizzar dream.

Re the ACT making science optional ....very very bad move. You need to have a basic understanding of how science operates at the very least, and ideally more than that to know when you're being lied to buy politicians, which is happening more and more. As a biologist I'm astounded at how much science is misrepresented by leaders in practically every first world country. People vote based on these misrepresentations.
