A tribute I wanted to make of my favorite band, The Cure. This song is the greatest. A masterpiece. I love the lyrics, Robert Smith is a genius.

Lyrics:
Give me your eyes
That I might see
The blind man kissing my hands.
The sun is humming
My head turns to dust
As he plays on his knees
As he plays on his knees

And the sand
And the sea grows
I close my eyes
Move slowly through drowning waves
Going away on a strange day

And I laugh as I drift in the wind
Blind, Dancing on a beach of stone
Cherish the faces as they wait for the end
Sudden hush across the water
And we're here again.

And the sand
And the sea grows
I close my eyes
Move slowly through drowning waves
Going away
On a strange day.

My head falls back
And the walls crash down
And the sky,
And the impossible
Explode
Held for one moment I remember a song.
An impression of sound
Then everything is gone
Forever

A Strange Day.

He is a true poet.. Robert will never grow old. He will forever remain eccentric, dark, fascinating, absolutely beautiful boy with romantic soul. He will never leave his tragic kingdom made of strange dreams..
  • Robert is a genius, no doubt about it. On his 50th birthday, David Bowie said The Cure is one of the most eccentric british bands .... Yeah, Dave, you got it!

A Strange Day and A Forest... two songs that never leave my mind.

This song is so wonderfully haunting. One of their best songs.

I’m jealous of u people in the comments having nostalgic memories to these songs. My parents did not listen to this kinda stuff so the cure is completely new to me

Robert is so magic. And the way he moves his little arms, he's like a little goth kitten. So soft and feely.

Loved the 80s music, still love it. The Cure was at the top of that list. We had a tape, VHS tape with The Cure videos and watched it over and over at times with friends. This was one of the videos on there and brings back so many great memories. Loved that era of music, the best music era in general.

Robert Smith will always hold a special place in my heart. His music allowed me to live, express myself and not commit suicide. Thanks!!
  • Such a privilege to enjoy music together with your child. My son is 17 and has loved the Cure for a few years now. He plays electric guitar and tells me stuff about Robert's guitar sound and technique that I never even knew (even though I've been a fan since the early 80's). Such a gift from the heavens. Thank you 🧡

I love his music, his character, his dark music videos, everything. What an inspirational man.

I'm so glad the cure is in my life. I couldn't live without them.
  • Nothing quite like vintage Cure! Memories of my youth when this album came out flood me to my core every time I hear it...some painful, some joyous...but always reaching me on a level I'll never quite be able to express. Robert Smith is my idol! Thankfully we share the same birthday.
