Did you know that a staggering 83% of those in our culture believe that truth is relative? On top of that, 70% consider church irrelevant, and a whopping 46% live in anxiety. Could it be that these realities are somehow connected?

In this episode of Conversations, John & Lisa do a deep dive into the cost of believing that you know better than God does when it comes to determining what is best for your life. They speak to how we as followers of Christ are called to resist the current of our culture, providing practical strategies for doing that effectively.

If you want to build a faith that endures to the end and find true peace in this chaotic world, you won’t want to miss this episode!

  • Thank you for your message. I agree with you wholeheartedly that there is not enough emphasis on personal prayer and reading of Scripture in the church. This was life changing to me at age 35 and I grew up in the church!!! There is no time for what I want to call “lazy Christianity” any longer. The enemy and culture will devour that right up. God I pray for the Body of Christ to rise up, stand tall and firm for the capital-T-Truth in a kind and loving way. Thanks again. I am encouraged!
  • Love you guys!! Thank you for your bold faith and speaking truth!
  • Lisa talking about living 'my own truth' reminds me of the darkest times in my life. I have so much empathy with those who were church hurt like I was and they direct that anger at God instead of realizing pastors are people and we should always look higher than the pulpit to the King of Kings. Freedom...shalom shalom has entered my life with full surrender to God. Society sure loves to tell you to 'do what makes you happy' but it's a LIE from the enemy for sure. Thank you for this message, got my boat headed upstream, it's hard but Jesus is worth it.

Dear John & Lisa, all the way from the Netherlands we thank you for all you do for the body of Christ and this world and know we are blessed and impacted because of you! My burning question is: “As a wife/female, how do you remain dependent on God and His words spoken over your life, while being placed in a role of submission to your husband, especially if your husband isn’t pursuing the plans and promises of God upon his life?” Thank you, bless you!
  • John and Lisa this is so good. It's so important to know the word is the word, & will always remain the same. Truth creates boundaries. God's truth 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️. Thank you for these podcasts they have really helped me grow in my relationship with God and my relationships. I truly appreciate that you both don't sugar coat it to please itchy ears.
  • Totally blessed by your sermons, series, podcasts... applying so much to my life, learning to trust in God for my spouse and loved ones, that they too will have a fire to live a life set apart for the Lord. I have an amazing church community that prays over me and my family. It truly makes all the difference to remain connected, or else I would of felt alienated, rejected and alone in my walk. Ya'll are awesome, sending love, prayers and blessings from San Antonio TX ❤
  • May God Bless each of you and your loved ones, In Jesus's Name!
