Hey Nick,Just a note to say "THANKS" for your very informative videos. Those of us new & weaning into FPV need to watch these types of videos to get a real comprehension of the FPV arena. I have learned a tremendous amount of information in the last year w/FPV with some easy homework/research & have started to set up a couple of my gliders w/FPV. I am using the Eachine TX03's & have several VTX03's in my FPV stock supplies along with different antennas. Keep up the great & informative work.

Always good tips and review! I love how these things keep getting smaller and smaller.
  • @JJONESFPV
I'm going to get one of these to put on my 3" build. Keep up the good work πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thanks for close-up view at connectors! I have to order some plugs to resolder my cameras and VTXs wires.

According to banggood the VTX03 is switchable and max is 200mw. If thy have a 600mWh please link to it in the description

For what it's worth, I have one on a F949 which I have reached 1.1km still with a good image, I just ran out of control range. It was clear LOS, but still very impressive for under 3 grams. I am waiting on a 200mw (vtx03) for one of my wings, I expect several km with the highest setting. I purchased the U-fl RHCP cloverleaf antennas also. Thanks for another good video.

this might be perfect for my syma x11 :) thanks for the video :)

AFAIK, circular polarization does not increase penetration. Circular polarization reduces multipathing (i.e. environments which cause a lot of reflections, like indoors, bando, parking garage, etc.). Also, for racing, if pilots on adjacent channels are running a different polarization (e.g. RHCP vs LHCP), there is less interference and bleed over.

Banggood also sells the IPEX to SMA pigtails. I bought some to hack up to fix some broken SMA VTXes. These pigtails should make for a plug and play SMA option for a full size quad paired with any of these VTXes. I just ordered some of the VTX03s for my 210 size build.

Can you share power output (power meter) when 200mW setting on?
  • Like your depinning tutorial! Do you know where to get wires with these little metal contacts for DIY setups? What are your thoughts on heat from the Vtx03? Specs seem a little high by mah. You were running a Runcam Swift as your camera on the field test? Have you tried unsnapping and resnapping the antenna a few times to judge the IPEX connector tenacity? Great review! Jim

Great review!! Can I ask who makes that little quad you were flying?
  • Great info ! Question : can you attach a VTX to the camera on a Syma X5C or other cheap camera drone and get FPV ? It would be nice to make all my drones FPV ! Thanks !
  • @Oeliboeb
Looks great for something like the zerro 3
  • In Ireland, your quad needs to be under 110mm and have propguards to be micro class, do you know any brushless quads that would fit into that?
