playing an old shooter is like living in a small town where people know each other and are assholes
  • @wendigo_inVR
that dude who told you to change your name was just jealous that you could have no username

2:15 I'm in the war trenches, dying, lost half of my hearing, ringing in my ear, but in the distance I can hear my fellow soldier calling me a moron and telling me to change my name.

First face reveal of husk for me. Dude sounded like he was watching paint dry and he looks like that too. Thought he was faking the cadence. Great to found out this is a very authentic quality

The era of Day of Defeat and Team Fortress Classic was a great one.

Playing DOD:S in 2024 is one thing. Playing it on NA servers is a wholer nother level. DOD:S was actually the game that got me into competitive shooters. I ran over 6000h across 3 accounts in this hell hole of a game. I enjoyed every second of it. Even played "semi" professional for quite some time. Fragmovie culture, gun games, sniper server's, realism, ESL, forums..... can't name it all but the game had a motivated community for a couple of years. Im talking world wide btw... I can remember playing with georgian mates against portugese players who had a east coast us guy on their team. SA, NA, EU even some japanese players. I could talk about this damn game forever. Hit me up if you want to hear more about it.

That dude cockroach was a genuinely nice and wholesome guy. I wish more who played milsim type games were all more chill like that,

Day of Defeat was the first online game that I played consistently with people I only knew through a game. Had a clan with a Ventrilo server, we'd have dedicated game nights & clan battles. It was awesome. My Dad would make jokes like "Have you made it to Berlin yet?!" since I played it so much.

"you get your leg blown off and there is like one person on earth with your bloodtype" "right" perfection
  • @lungbutter9254
I'm happy to be apart of the community that is still fond of older games. Another banger husk glad to be watching the evolution of the channel in real time
