My makeup routine over 40 for normal people

Published 2024-06-28
This is my unedited, over 40, makeup routine that I think any normal people can do. No fancy products, brushes or techniques (well maybe the winged eyeliner!) I try to look natural and effortless but with more color and contrast. Here's all the cream makeup I use to keep my skin looking glowy and soft. Over 40 makeup is a different world and cream makeup makes my mature skin world go round! Also you'll get an up close and personal view of my eyebrow application and an unedited winged eyeliner tutorial (with an appearance of one slightly hooded eyelid)

Mature skin makeup doesn't have to be complicated, in fact, as we get older, usually less is more, and I think that's great news!

  • I’m one of your younger viewers more than likely, 20, but I love watching your videos because you’re real and so raw. I watched one of your videos about a week ago and immediately subscribed because of that video! You hold yourself so well and you’re so effortlessly classy, I aspire to be effortlessly classy! It’s refreshing to see more women who are themselves and not trying to follow every trend and trying to live up to social media expectations.

Finally! Someone who uses their fingers to apply their makeup. This was lovely. Thank you.
  • It's nice that you show everything in real time, and also that you use affordable brands mostly, because I could actually try them!

I love your channel. At 41 you have inspired me to dance more in who I am

I love you Dianna. Please use a little cup of water instead of spit. Don’t want you to have to deal with pink eye. (From a health care provider perspective)
  • @BelAge
You have such beautiful eye color!

Okay, you're my new fav YouTuber. 🙂 Your little side comments are easy to miss but when caught make me laugh out loud. Thank you for teaching me how to wear makeup. I'll be 46 on Wednesday and this is the best gift I could receive. So glad I clicked on one of your videos!
  • I grew up in the 80's. Ring around the eyeo with black pencil. I really needed this normal tutorial. Because i am so heavy handed. 😂🎉

It's nice to see a finishes look that doesn't look... makeupy. I love the natural approach and I feel like as we pass the 40 mark we hear more about covering and concealing rather than hydrating and enhancing.

A lovely look at the end. I love the blush and how it looks on you!

Thank you! First winge liner I could follow and do. This is subtle and they are usually dramatic. At first I thought I’d made a big mess in my magbifying mirror. But in my regular mirror, and especially ones I got mascara on, it’s perfect. I do continue to the inner corner of my eye with the very finest line. Thanks!

Yes! I was praying you’d do a makeup video! ❤ (This is T from Colorado)
  • Things I have changed as I swiftly approach fifty. I stay away from my neck with concealer or foundation. I have laxity and it settles, which makes it more noticeable. I do blend but I do not apply there. I value a tint over full coverage. As you emphasized, I ensure I'm hydrated and skin is prepped before applying makeup. I may leave the house without makeup, but not without skin prep and that includes SPF. I wish I had realized the importance of SPF in my younger years but I am pretty much the same age as you and we laid out with tanning oil to burn on purpose - we didn't think we'd care at 50 but we do. Oh, we do!

I think the higher eyebrow is beautiful. Have you ever tried raising the other lower eyebrow to match. The higher eyebrow really opens up your eye! 💞
  • @faeriesmak
I am 49. I miss having nice neck skin and the ability to wear contact lenses.
  • You're a professional on your face. I loved learning the products you use because it's exactly what I would love, getting to Trader Joe's 🎉

Hi Diana, Thank you again for another wonderful video - I know I'm not the only one who can't get enough of you. I know it's off topic but if it's not too much trouble, could you post the brand name of the v-neck linen blouse with broderie anglais sleeves and the weird barrel jean with a front seam from one of you French girl style videos. I've done image searches and searches like crazy but can't find anything like them.Thank again for all the fun content you provide. Also, I'll have to try the goof proof brow pens from Benefit - I have similar brow issues to you and I use Anastasia Brow Wiz that is very easy to use.
