Objectively, the Sony is the better overall system, but if Fuji inspires you to get out there and shoot more, stick with it. I recently picked up a Nikon Zf and am LOVING it! It's the camera that Fuji should have made, but sadly never did.

Thank you for the videos on the a6700. I appreciate your down to earth and practical approach to discussing equipment. Ive been looking into getting an apsc camera to complement my a9 for when I need a more portable wildlife kit. Ive been tempted to get a fuji camera but in the end I think it makes more sense for me to commit to 1 lens system, even with its flaws. Ive ordered a a6700 with the 70-350mm.

So the only reasons are viewfinder/lcd/lack of joystick, which is understandable, even though it seems Sony and Fuji has the same size viewfinder. Would these stop others using Sony APS-c? Maybe not. Always try things out and make your own decisions!
  • Thanks for another great video! I’m convinced I need to test out the XH2 or XH2s. I love my XT4 but the autofocus is frustrating since I photograph animals a lot. I think this pushed me towards those two Fujis instead of the a6700!
  • Hope you truly enjoy it, and how do you compare it to Fujifilm xs20?
  • @TheHigh0ctane
What can you say about build quality of xs20 in comparison of a6700? Seen some negative feedback about XS20 build quality… really like the camera though, would like to get one.
  • @mdenjoyer831
between this and X-S20 wich i should buy for photography and video? i like sooc film sims on fuji but iwant good handheld video how do you find autofocus XS20 vs A6700?
  • With the original sony kit lens:- Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens (Black) Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens How good are those lens for low light ? Ofc am coming from a 1" sensor camera at 2.8 apt which kinda sux at low light... Will i see big improvement ?

So, to summarize from a straight out of camera photo. The Sony 6700 is clinical and precise, and the Fuji’s are soft and warm? Perhaps there are better adjectives here? Other than that, the Fuji is more pleasing to dial in I take it. This said, from a purely technical side, I would put up with the ergonomic short comings as if I wanted a more clinical precise shot, product shots for instance, I would have a harder time sharpening a soft warm shot vs having it the other way around. Transversely getting the same warm and soft style the Fuji profiles have would be easier in post. I think you can get Fuji LUTs and use them with the Sony I think? I need to check that actually.

i agree that its hard to find a bad camera in 2024. i was just watching a big documentary on youtube and it was in 480p, and still had million views. ive seen multiple 1080p documentary and the camera quality isnt great but people enjoy it and no one complained about the camera quality. even mr beast has many parts of his videos using canon g7x or phone. anyone at this stage can just go for anyone of these cameras. a6700 is a good camera just like fuji xs, canon r series, panasonic s5ii etc. it would depend on what the beginner is doing mainly, for long video id recommend fx30 and s5ii. for photos any of these are good. feel also is good, but personally im a fan of just any camera brand. i like em all. i personally use canon r10, r6ii, zv1.

Hi Luca! Very good video, thank you! I shoot both Fuji and Sony (And lumix :-D) For me personally, Fuji and Sony share the same "mental space". I don't shoot profesionally by the way. My problem is, I like both systems. I want to get rid of one of them, but I find they complement each other. In one side, I really love the full frame look, and I really prefer a full frame system to play with vintage glass. And I shoot a lot with vintage glass. In the other hand, for semi-profesional usage, I prefer my fuji, the pictures that you get out of the camera, without any retouch, are just perfect, and the film simulations, for me, are really a pleasure to use. And I have my small lumix that I really enjoy for street photography :-D I'm thinking that I'll keep everything and I'll stop overthinking 😀

For all who think buying Fuji, I share my experience and my humble opinion for the xh2. It’s simple : if you want a good autofocus forget Fuji. Really a very big issue with it. Even when the camera have green box on subject , it is out of focus a vast majority of the time. Very frustrating. All the rest is very good with Fuji, but not autofocus .
  • @IAmniceify1
But fuji autofocus is so inconsistent....i miss so many shots and even crank the shutter speed up but it still misses like 30% of the time. Its very annoying...I was hooked by Fujifilm at first but not anymore in the foreseeable future as im selling and moving on to sony. Also another thing on fuji , the AutoISO doesnt respect the set minimum shutter speed and adjust constantly once ISO has reached its maximum capped setting. I would be okay to get an underexposed shot and adjust in post rather than a shot that is out of focus due to the subject movement.

Before purchasing u have to decide which camera best all Camera cons and prons if u go higher end Camera u have to pay extra
  • @AlexIsUber
I’m going from a6400 to XT5. I’m not a fan of Sony dynamic range at all. I also want to try Nikon Z6II
  • "It's hard to find a bad camera in 2024." I say this to a lot of people and it's very true. These days I think people need to go hands on at a store or something or rent and pick their camera that way. If you like holding it and it makes you want to shoot then that's the camera that you buy. I don't even like holding or looking through Sony cameras after owing them for a few years and getting out of that system. I'm Nikon and Fuji.
  • @jankucera8505
except wide tracking doesnt work. the only thing that works is the small spot.
  • @RickMentore
Most Fujifilm APSC shooters, who experiment with other systems invariable return to that system. Fuji is just fun!
  • @sgg74
Hi there. It is a nice video... but please tell me... what did you mean by saying the image quality is not fuji level? Also the colors... I shot fujifilm for over 6 years and I found the colors to be the worse, besides probably lumix. Fuji shines for skin colors, but besides that I found ot to be too pale and muted for landscape photography. What you did and did not like of fuji colors compared to sony's? And also other brands if you have experience. I can understand the inspiration part.
