Another updated version of my regular old narration from last year.


I read somewhere that Gordon Goes Foreign was supposed to be an episode in Series 3 - or maybe Series 2 - but was cancelled for being too expensive. This surprises me as I worked with it a little, and the only problem I could find was that depicting London would've been a bit tricky, but I really think redecorating one of the existing stations would've helped.

The other - and much more important - problem was that no one outside of the UK would've gotten the St Pancras gag at the end. Goodness knows I didn't get it when I was ten and reading it for the first time. So I altered the ending so that the gag is explained well enough for anyone outside of the UK.


Also, I decided to change it from London to "The Big City" like it was done in "Thomas and the Special Letter" so as to maintain that feeling that the Island of Sodor could take place wherever children wanted it to.

    That ending, though...I love it. Gives Gordon some sort of a happy ending, much like with Tender Engines when TFC assured him steam won't be abolished on the NWR.
