The God portrayed in the Bible isn’t easy to understand, but what if we could better understand what it is that we can’t understand? In this video, we will explore the complex identity of God displayed in the storyline of the Bible, and (surprise!) it all leads to Jesus.

  • Yes I was an atheist and am now a born again Christian of 11 months now. Thank you Jesus for revealing the holy spirit to me - Amen
  • I once heard in a sermon that “it’s a good thing we can’t fully understand God because a God we can fully understand is smaller than us” and that kind of gave me some peace of mind from being really confused about who God is
  • I just want to cry. 'To know God n be known by him'. So beautiful and peaceful.

Thank you, Father God, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Thank you for loving us and thank you for your mercy and salvation through Christ Jesus! And thank you to you all at BibleProject for spreading the message of salvation and helping us to grow in Christ. May God bless you and guide in you every area of your life and in all that you do.
  • Now I understand why human beings are the most complicated creatures in the world, because they're created by the most complex Creator
  • The last part hits home hard for me "The point isn't to understand. The point is to know and be known by this God so that we can participate in his love."
  • I'm finally reading the Bible after being apathetic in my faith for decades and this channel is really helpful when I find myself struggling with a chapter or concept. Great work!

I have been stuck on this question for a while and this gives me a bigger understanding of how the Trinity works. Thank you Bible Project!

This is how we’re all tied together as one and a part of creation itself. God’s Will, Glory, Grace, and Love. Gives us boundless potential to do anything possible through Him and for us to serve our one true purpose to align ourselves into His Will. Amen
  • Tim mackie and Jon Collins and all the team at the Bible project are blessing for many young and not so young in the faith Christian’s that spread the word to all who want to open their hearts to Jesus.
  • Understanding this is just realizing that you'll never know until God wants you to know, then things will never be the same again. Welcome to faith...
  • I just wept...because I’m like “Man, YAH literally became flesh because he loved us so much and wanted to become one with us so bad, so he just came down to our level and let people mock him and brutally beat and murder him. Like whhaaat? Who does that?!” 😭😭😭 I have a whole new fresh understanding and love of our Father. Thank you!
  • Wow. I say that after every Bible Project video, but WOW! This is so powerful. I love the way you use the example of 3-D and 2-D. It reminds me of this book "Flatland," that I read in a math class.... like "Whoa! My brain can't quite grasp this!" But that's true of us trying to fully understand a triune God; we are natural, He is supernatural. I love the imagery you used. This is so helpful. Thank you for making intelligent, high-quality media that gives sound theological doctrine. Christians like me have been waiting our whole lives, many decades for this! 🙌
  • @AdayseMartins
I love these animations and two people talking explaining and understanding together is a great idea. Also a fun way to learn. Well done! ❤💯👍
  • The entire bible project team is AMAZING. Every single video is a MUST see .
  • Im an inborn Oneness Pentecostal (UPC), After watching this video, I just realized that our doctrine is so very simple to the point we acknowledge only One God, no distinction of personality, no other hard explanation. And my personal encounter, when Jesus said "before Abraham, I Am" that's enough for me to understand that He's my Father, Messiah, and Holy Spirit. Now i address it all in Jesus name
