As a X-Men fan, this Aspect of MHA has left me disappointed.

In the beginning of the story, when Deku was walking to school, he could have witnessed a protest outside the police station or politician’s office of mutants shouting for equal rights. When Gang Orca was introduced show how he had to play respectability politics in order to prove that he wasn’t the “villain” that he looked like, it could also be the reason why he wears a suit instead of armor, or a costume. They could also show actual discrimination happening like mutants not being able to obtain work or being rejected for housing or school opportunities. I’ve noticed this with a lot of authors they want to go down in history as somebody who said something big, but all they said was the word big left it there an expected praise for just mentioning it.

If a third of all quirk people are are mutants, plus the 20% of quirkless, then that implies that nearly 40% of humanity is discriminated across the board!

It is but in the vigilantes spin off I love the vigilantes series I might like it more than the original because of how it talked quirk discrimination and how quirks hurt people and ruin families it also talked how some mutants can’t live a normal life because they look villainous and the fact that they are literal built different it makes it hard for them to find housing

Reminds me of what they did with faunus discrimination in RWBY, it was mention and they didn't do much...

I think one reason why mutant discrimination wasn’t utilized well was because the author didn’t know how to write it well. There was this korean webtoon called “Get Schooled” and while it made very conveying stories about bullying, abuse, and even domestic violence they failed tremendously when they had a mixed white-korean “good guy” call a mixed black and korean bully the N word (not to mention the way the mixed black students were drawn in a VERY interesting way then other previous bullies and students). Japan is a country with few minorities and while i do not know the personal life of the MHA author i’m not sure if HE would be able to write it well at least not without help. Or maybe im completely wrong and stupid and he has this topic in mind for future projects, idk its my thoughts please dont shoot me internet. But also thanks for reading!

In reality, Mutation Quirks are kind of the best type of Quirk to have. If you have an animal based Mutation Quirk, you can effectively have any and every ability that’s tied to that animal at your disposal.

Rock lock getting sambo lips was not a great start to this plotlines climax telling a black man in japan he wouldnt get it was almost that bad too 'oh its worse out in the boonies' to the point of lynchings and somehow people are unaware(remember this is a world with supersonic travel speeds so the boonies arent the boonies for heros in acute emergencies) Dont civil rights too hard is a crappy place to take it in general. The discrimination also just....doesnt hold up on several levels. The biggest ones being what the author has characters bring up. Most the named villains? Not heteromorphs. A significant amount of heroes? heteromorphs.

Could you make a video on how you would play out a mutant discrimination arc in mha and more noticeable racist moments in the series?
  • Well the first of mha it was about heroes concept if they threw that discrimination concept on the first place it wouldn’t be about villains and heroes anymore the show would be very different no todoroki back story no bakugo development everything would have different turn .
  • @kap1618
How come no one UA is shown to be a mutant bigot? Are you seriously telling me that Bakugou wouldn't be a massive bigot to people like Shoji? This should have been built up back in Season 1/2.
