  • I'm Australian, and that's the best rendition of any anthem I've ever heard. She was in a league all of her own.
  • @jodydarby
There will never be a better rendition of our Anthem.
  • My husband and I were in the Air Force at the time. He had already deployed. Then my medical unit was called up to deploy. While in my uniform, I put my baby in the arms of my sister. They boarded first on a plane and left. At the time, I had no idea when I would see my baby again, or my husband. The whole gate area of people were crying, and made a parting of the Red Sea as I turned to go. Next day I deployed and happened to be in a hotel with my squadron when Whitney sang this. A group of friends were in my hotel room. I’ll never forget it. We were undone. Hands down the best rendition then and ever. Gets me every time

After 32 years.... still gives me chills. Simply the best!!
  • @cainsolo1
Whitney Houston's rendition is THE ONLY ONE to EVER be sold as a single!
  • Not a dry eye in America that day, watching her sing this. It was during war- we needed this and once again, she delivered. This is the official version. No one ever can touch it. Thank you for leaving us this Whitney. May you rest in eternal peace.
  • @Gunner53-OK
There will never be another Whitney Houston.........she was beyond incredible! Wow!!!!!
  • I live in Tampa, Florida, where this performance took place, and my parents have friends that lived near the stadium at the time. They had outdoor activities going on, so they were able to also hear her in real real-time, as her voice resonated through the area. Absolutely wild, unimaginable the talent this woman had.
  • Easily one of the best, if not the best rendition. She took so many risks and executed each one perfectly. Whitney’s voice was one of a kind.
  • @Tulsa_Time
What a gift she was. Favorite anthem of all time. I still get chills and tears to this day! Happy Independence Day America 🇺🇸
  • Beautiful. It’s amazing how non Americans can listen to her and cry. Say what you want about Whitney, you can’t deny That voice was anointed!❤️ Rip queen 👑
  • "The Voice" was her name. She was a one of a kind singer, who cannot be matched again. Whitney has a special place in the lives of people within my age. Her voice was iconic. Her roles in films were legendary.
  • I was back on active duty during the 1st Gulf War when this occurred. We managed to find a TV and watched in amazement at this rendition.
  • @rhiahlMT
Another good one is Ray Charles singing "America, The Beautiful". Such and amazing song, and one hell of a rendition of it.
  • I was 19 when this was sang .. I'm 49 now .. and it still brings tears to my eyes ...
  • Still brings tears. I watched that on live TV and we all had tears in our eyes. She was incredible .
  • @Jennifer_Laz
I remember nothing about that super bowl, but everything about Whitney's glorious anthem.
