I am a former teacher. I can honestly say that within the last 10 years we have stopped teaching nutrition and home economics (cooking, parenting, child care) classes. These should be mandatory classes just as math, reading, science and social studies. Educate so you don’t have to medicate.

Green tea. Ginger tea. Water and lemon water! All day everyday. Abdominal lifts. ❀🌸
  • Jack LaLane said this sixty years ago and I forgot about it. He lived well into his 90's.

This guy really cares, and want to cure you as opposed to just treating the problem.

This guy hasn't aged a day in the last ten years. That means something alone.

100% true Dr. Mandell!! I have heard you talk about sugar many times. And I’m happy I followed everything you said. I cut out all sugar & lost 67 pounds. My blood sugar & blood pressure are back to normal. I realized I had more energy so I started walking a little. I started feeling so great that I gradually walked longer. (only 2 miles a day, but that got the job done.) Walking is my favorite exercise.
For some reason I do better stopping things cold turkey than tapering off. I am so grateful to you Doctor Mendel! THANK YOU!!
    * Love to your beautiful
    mom! πŸ’œπŸ¦‹πŸ™

Thank you again for your effort doc.

My daughter, 14 years old, who has stuffed herself with everything sweet for the last few years (even if it wasn't entirely tasty), picked up all kinds of sweets on December 31, 2023 and ate them.

When I reacted in horror, she told me that I should only give her one more day, because from tomorrow (01/01/2024) she wouldn't even put a crumb in her mouth.
She had come up with a tactic and wanted to carry it out.
    Only eat sweets on birthdays.
She's actually done it so far. We had a birthday in January and last weekend. She ate a piece of cake in January and last weekend.
Her wall calendar is full of crosses because she draws a cross for every successful day.

    UNBELIEVABLE!!️

I would have NEVER thought it was possible for her to pull this off and I'm sooo proud β™₯️ of her.

This video's message needs to be broadcast daily until the nation, and the world, truly realizes how bad sugar is for everybody. We also need to focus on those food companies that keep increasing the amount of sugar in their products. We are a nation addicted to sugar and don't even know it!
  • Yes I use to drink at least 2 to 3 sodas a day Until I got up to 262 pounds in the pass 4 months I stopped drinking sodas and stopped eating so many carbs and when I went to the doctor last week I'm down to 220 lbs. 😊

You are spot on. Two months ago I was miserable. I had the gut, the achy joints, the inflammation and all the rest.
My labs showed high cholesterol and that I was borderline pre diabetic. I decided I'd have enough.
I quit sugar cold turkey. I went from eating little candy bars, sugary snacks, drinking fruit juices, etc.. to nothing.
I threw out all my sugar, all my snacks, and I must admit, the first couple weeks were a bit rough.
Found myself reaching for the desk drawer where that stuff used to reside and stopped when I remembered it was gone.
I would say it was about 3 weeks in and I lost all cravings.
I eat mostly a Mediterranean diet, lots of salmon, salads, olive oil and cut carbs down to a bare minimum.
My inflammation has gone down a lot, my joints feel younger, I can tighten my belt up two notches past we're I could before
and I feel so much better.
One of the most remarkable things, is that good food, now tastes awesome and the time or two I've tasted junk food, it tasted like garbage.
I'm about to start working out and getting back in shape and it's all because I completely altered the dietary course I had been on for decades.

take home message = any sugar you eat, is fat you put on. This really makes me rethink what I'm eating.

I have noticed that the moment I eat fudge or any other high sugar treat within 15 minutes or so I have a wave of extreme fatigue hit me. I love what I am learning on your channel Dr. Mandell . Sugar is causing great havoc in our bodies.
  • Yesssss it is hard. I was drinking 3 to 4 cokes a day and an ice coffee everyday. I cut everything and now I drink 1 coke a day and I treat myself to one ice coffee a week. I have dropped 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I am feeling so much better.

It was the book I read years ago, called Jonathan Livingston Seagull. And I never forgot what he said, do I eat to live or do I live to eat? Is food my life or is life my food? I have been skinny most of my life and now I am 70 years old and I know that I've gained a lot of weight and I have to lose it. When I was younger I was very very busy from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed and I'd love to my life because I was producing something of my day. I never sat on the couch when I was younger, and if I got hungry I would eat a little bite and keep going. I never thought about food until dinner when it was time to make it for my husband. I never bought sweets I was on an extreme budget and I was eating the way that I did when I was growing up, meat and potatoes and vegetables. We were all healthy as Horses and you rarely saw a person that was obese or even heavy. Whoever I am now is not who I really am I am a busy person and I am going to kick and slay the Dragon a fat on my body I am determined. There are people who wake up in the morning and the first thing they think about is food. I also when I was younger never ate Candy cookies chocolate and my sister-in-law had a weight problem and when I went in her room and I saw candy papers on her bedside tables all over the place I knew that that was what was causing her to gain weight. The big lie is that Sugar gives you a big rush when in reality I believe that Sugar steals your energy. Good luck to everybody out there who is trying to improve their health and well-being period and God bless everybody
  • No one is a bigger sugar addict than I was, and when I started keto and intermittent fasting, no one was more surprised than I was that my sugar craving disappeared completely!!! πŸ™‚

Yes, I make a pitcher of fresh squeezed lemons in water every night and drink that all day. I love it and it has changed so much for me, weight loss, clearer skin, etc.
  • Stopped the sugar, lost 5lbs ,3weeks, couldn't lose weight for months when ,I was trying too.Still losing or maintaining staying away from sugar.Feeling withdrawal symptoms. Used to use drugs, that's how I know it's the withdrawal from sugar causing the feelings.BUT,I FEEL SUPER.GREAT.
  • @Jay-bu1pr
I like that this doc heals us with food instead of drugs
  • Sugars are poison. When that sweet tooth runs wild eat some sweet apples or a banana. Cherries are a great snack also. Little jar of cherries in the fridge are great for that evening snack
  • Love your videos. I drink lemon water in the morning, water all day, no tap water. I mix a shot drink I make of lemon, garlic, raw pure honey, cayenne pepper, turmeric, ginger & cinnamon every day. Like this, Dr., I can also testify that he is right on what he is saying. I am living the changes.
