Hey man thanks a lot for making this video, I’ve been playing guitar for 25 years and I remember in the beginning how hard it was and how discouraging it was back then. There was no YouTube to watch videos like this to help me and it was all done on ultimate guitar tabs which is how I taught myself. What you’re doing here is giving people that are just starting out hope that they have a chance to really learn by showing them some easy cords which they can play right away which will make them really happy because they will hear themselves play until moving on to more complicated songs but you’re giving them a chance to play something right away which is what every beginning guitar player wants to do, i.e play something right away. Thanks

You have the best guitar lessons online. You're such a great communicator and it's a pleasure to watch you and learn with you!
  • Thanks brother...you helped me so much with proper strumming and how to properly hold the chords with my fingers. I am slowly hearing the song come alive as I keep practicing...motivating me a lot to continue!
  • Thank you bro for your lessons you make it easy to learn again I recently had a stroke and I have to learn everything all over I started playing when I was 12 and enjoyed playing for 46 years but now I'm 60 I haven't played in the last 2 years but now that I'm feeling a little better I'm ready to get back into it thank you for your lessons God bless brother take care

Years ago I used to get email lessons from you. I some how had problems with my old email address and I can no longer log into it. I couldn't remember your name to look you up and this video popped up on my YouTube recommendations today awesome.

Thank you SOOO much. New to guitar in Jan this year. I just made it through HWNN (America), sounding pretty decent to my ear. đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ˜đŸ‘đŸ»

I appreciate your videos! I have to say that strumming tutorials that include maps to show up down 1 & 2 &, up down down up, etc. never helped me at all. I was completely stuck until I just let myself feel the rhythm and forget about all of that. I'm sure it works much differently for other people. But if someone if having the same trouble that I was, just letting yourself feel the rhythm may help you become unstuck as well :)

I'd like to add my favorite 2 chord song. "Feeling Alright", by Dave Mason..I play it standard tuning, no capo..E7 and A7...You can play around with it to get a funkier sound..I do it by lifting and hammering my middle finger on the E7, then simultaneously lifting and hammering on both fingers for the A7...It's different from Joe Cocker, and DM's versions, but really sounds good when you lay the soulful funk feel to it.

This is the best strumming and rythym lesson on the channel! I'm not a big fan of two/three chords in general. Real world is average song has about 10-20 chords.
