The entire history of the Ottoman Empire (All Parts) - 1299 - 1922

The Ottoman Empire was founded circa 1299 by Osman I in northwestern Asia Minor, south of the Byzantine capital Constantinople. The Ottomans crossed into Europe in 1352, moving their capital to Adrianople in 1369. They expanded in Asia Minor by annexing many small Turkic beylics.
They conquered Constantinople in 1453, and then expanded deep into Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East. The Ottoman territory increased exponentially under Sultan Selim I, who assumed the Caliphate in 1517 as the Ottomans defeated the Mamluks of Egypt and annexed western Arabia, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Levant. Within the next few decades, much of the North African coast became part of the Ottoman realm. Slowly after many wars and internal problems, the Ottoman sultanate started to crumble. • One of my favorites facts from history is that the ottomans and austrians spent centuries fighting each other and collapsed fighting together.
  • My great grandma was 17 years old when the Ottoman Empire was dissolved. I've met her, she died in 2009. It's amazing, it was founded in 1299 and is almost still in living memory!
  • @Gaibreel
Im still blown away that the Ottomans lasted until ww1 😮 Amazing video! Thrilling and the music was perfection.
  • I can't imagine how much time you put into this perfectly-made documentary. Thank you!
  • I can't express my gratitude for this and similar channels. I'm a history nerd, currently broke and in residential flux, so being able to watch this video and check out for a little while is huge. Thanks a million, to you and all the history creators on Youtube.

I really liked watching this interesting and well-researched documentary. It kept my attention the whole time. Kudos to the creators!
  • What an amazing video. Thank you so much. I had no idea how wild this history was and I'm ashamed that i never really thought about the Ottoman empire. Thanks for educating me on the subject.

The way this guy pronounced the name Musa shows me that he did his due diligence in research. The intonation was perfect and he mentioned it many times. Well done!
  • Man, I love this guys videos. It takes a LONG time to actually make these videos. A full documentary! The highest amount of respect from me.
  • I always wanted to learn about the Ottoman Empire, and this documentary did it perfectly for me to just jot down notes and spread out my research to other aspects. I hope there will be many more documentaries like possibly on the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth on how it begun and to the downfall like this would be amazing! but also i want to say keep up the great work. You deserve a lot more subscribers than you have.
  • As a Lebanese, my great grandfather was an Ottoman colonel and I am really impressed to see pictures of him in the classic uniform. It was an amazing empire ❤ Edit : thanks for all the comments and likes !

Well done! Very informative, excellent narration of historical events. This part of history was obscured from History curriculum in my high school years. So much of my instruction was focused on western history.
  • I enjoyed this history lesson. The way the story was told is easy to follow and using the illustration of the land and the sultans was engaging and fun.
