Kieran is an example of what happens when you compare yourself to others. You start to lose yourself and become miserable

Scarlet and Violet really feel like a giant mixed bag for me. I like them a lot but they also have so many problems that add up.

It's upsetting the GF is concerned with Shiny Locking legendaries instead of properly patching their game a FULL YEAR after launch. Gen 9 is too wild

The post credits scene is a literal paradox. During the professors experiment they end up at the Crystal pool and you trade books, which gives them inspiration to explore area 0, despite the briar’s book being inspired by them. You also name Koraidon/miraidon through a paradox. It’s confusing for sure and it doesn’t necessarily answer many questions but it’s still cool. There’s a book in the underdepths that talks about it more

Both Legends Arceus and Scarlet & Violet have every single legendary in them shiny locked. That gives me the feeling that this is going to be the standard from now on.

I wanted to learn the mysteries of Area Zero, and all I got was this lousy turtle.

This is the 5th game where catching all the old legendaries is a selling point (and not even all of them like USUM and SwSh. The XYZ trio and the Tapus are missing). I just don’t feel like wasting my time on that.

I could not disagree more about the crown tundra offering more substantial content. I think all the guests you can invite to the club room and all the interactions you can unlock are awesome and the final boss of that is also really cool. I get that grinding bp to invite coaches isn’t exactly fun but in my opinion neither is doing dynamax adventures. Those offer no story and are basically impossible to do by yourself. Maybe this is just me and the indigo disk appeals to me because I prioritize the characters, story and lore a little more than sheer content. I do agree that the terapagos story could’ve been done much better and was a bit underwhelming but the kieran stuff made up for that imo.

To explain the post credits scene with the professor, I believe it alludes to the fact that YOU'RE the reason they discovered how to summon Paradox Pokémon and are also the reason they died, by trading your book with theirs, they were able to write their own book and if you go down and read their writings at the very bottom of area zero, even before you do the scene, it makes reference to a young trainer handing them a white book.
  • As a HUGE Unova fan, I loved it. The Terapagos section was carried by Kieran, as well as the BB Leauge story. I’m very satisfied, but it had so much potential to be something better.
  • @pangoldie
Kieran pretty much carried this DLC for me, he's such a good character and honestly he's my favorite gen 9 character AND rival tbh

I agree that the Indigo Disk was the better dlc compared to Crown Tundra in the plot department at the very least. But the fact that ALL the legendary Pokémon are shiny locked is dumb. The very idea of shiny locking is so asinine but that is a completely different conversation lol. And I also agree that the whole Terapogos plot line was tacked on haphazardly, like they basically said “oh by the way, we have to go to area zero” after Area Zero not being brought up a single time in neither the indigo disk nor the Teal mask? Don’t get me wrong, I love Terapogos and the lore and implications behind it is certainly interesting, but I just wished it was handled better lol. Also my favorite characters from the dlc are definitely Kieran, Drayton and Carmine, Drayton especially. Drayton had me laughing almost every time I saw him and he’s just a really fun character all around. I think it’d be cool to maybe see him take over the Opelucid City gym for Drayden in Black 3 and White 3 should we get them lol Edit: minor spelling errors 😭💀🫠

To be fair this dlc did the one thing for years GF should of fixed... MAKE BLASTOISE USE IS CANNONS FINALLY no more forehead hydro pump! And it swims like it has jet thrusters. Also so now we got a alt timeline proffesor that will certainly make those timeline theories more confusing now.😅
  • @SBaby
Carmine should have faced some consequences for what she did, since her lying to Kieran is what caused all the problems. The fact that she didn't face any consequences goes completely against the entire theme of the Scarlet and Violet story.
  • @PatGencarelli
So you didn't pay attention to what the professor said, they explained the paradox Pokemon and where they came from. Also if you read the professors notebook in the new part of Area 0, they state that they met with an interesting person and that person gave them a white book, that was referencing that cutscenes
  • @TheTrueJBru
Some of the most fun I’ve had playing Pokémon, but it sucks that it was attached to a still barely functioning base game. Also I hate that the big “source of the power” legendary appeared at the VERY end, as opposed to being part of a vast chunk of the story like Ogerpon. The Unova love was blessed though!
  • This DLC did feel like a promotion for Unova remakes rather than a major improvement on the Scarlet and Violet games, and don't get me started on the frame rate in some areas of the terarium as it is insufferable in some areas.

4:43 I will never not get over seeing Kingambit zoom around on his throne at high speed
