Honestly this is the best video you've done in months. Lots of information and practical. Too many videos feature products that are impractically expensive.
  • @mikesager7886
I have been in construction industry for 50 years. Construction management for 25. Would work for Scott in a heartbeat. World needs contractors who are willing to go the extra mile & follow the science. Well done. You should be proud.
  • @jonesconrad1
this guy, he is the best you've interviewed so far. Cost conscious whilst still maintaining quality. I really respect this guy.
  • Scott strikes me as a first class man dedicated to doing the best job he can while a) respecting the budgets of the buyers, and b) making enough money to sustain his business. I wish him every success.
  • @edstiver
One of your best videos. Please add Scott as a regular, his focus on affordability is critical to growing your base.
  • Scott is my new favorite builder on The Build Show. FINALLY someone that's doing high performance projects in a creative way so the masses can afford them! I love it.
  • @artscarcity1563
I'd love to watch as many videos as Scott is willing to put out. Proper techniques but budget-friendly- the perfect niche! Hoping he starts his own channel and documents all of the things he's doing for us to watch! I don't care about it being a well-edited video. Just getting it out to us with nominal editing would be great.
  • @Adolar
This is phenomenal. Bringing quality to the masses. Everyone deserves to have a house that the builder gave a shit about.

This man is single-handedly repairing the collective reputation of spec home contractors in the US, which they have done a good job of demolishing during the last 30 years by throwing up cheap, shoddy residential structures all over the country.

This is one of Matt’s BEST videos ever! Scott clearly is a man with a mission to Build houses the way they should be built! Hopefully Scott’s home buyers will start spreading the word to their friends and they’ll tell more friends, to spread the word … education is key! I love the longer format! I’m not a builder and I never played one on TV. I sincerely appreciate the thorough explanations at a more novice level.
  • @Crusader1815
Long format is great. The editing keeps every minute meaningful. This builder is a hero, by the way. Building smarter doesn't necessarily mean spending twice as much on the house. All the good ideas on your channel are free, too, so it's nice to see other builders learning from your videos.
  • @hanksnowden5288
This was one of the better videos. All your years of experimenting and striving for higher performance is pushing people like this gentleman here to reach higher as well. This is the ultimate goal!
  • Love the long format! Can't do all the nerdy details without taking the time. This was great. Thanks!
  • @raymo7532
I like the long format. Details are being covered better and we can see the excitement with this builder in doing the job right. He is definitely building a good name for himself and his work.
  • @MikeInPlano
You asked for comments on the longer format. Yes, I like it a lot! I've lived in a "cardboard house" by a production builder for the past 30 years. I'm looking ahead to building a retirement home in the next couple years, and I want to incorporate as many of these features into it as possible. I can't afford the kind of custom home you build, so what you presented here as a more affordable way to achieve a high efficiency structure will be very helpful. You and Scott ought to collaborate on a book for the average homeowner, about how to build a home like this one. I wish you had one now, so i could save some of the time I expect to spend viewing all your videos to glean as many details as possible.
  • Totally agree with this and would love to see this more often. Matt you do great work but some stuff is just not in my price point.
  • @willbass2869
21:00 "Home building as it should be..." THANK YOU, SCOTT Long format video essential for this type information. Thanks Matt for showcasing this small builder and his solutions & dedication to craft and excellence. Prospective homeowners working within budgets desperately need this.
  • Oh my gosh Matt! I can watch this conversation and tour for hours. It looks like Scott’s mind is full of build ideas.
  • @98mr574
I have watched many MANY of Matt’s videos over the years and this one is ABSOLUTELY my favorite - specifically due to Scott’s true passion to building science on a budget. I am in the the process of rebuilding (not remodeling) my 1980’s home and I was truly moved by his commitment. Keep these values and I am certain you will succeed in everything you do. Best regards.
