I've visited dozens of indigenous tribes around the world, but no experience has been quite like this one, on the tri-country border of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. My wife, Deanna, and I spent 2 days driving on long dirt roads to meet the Vadoma tribe, who are the only humans on earth that genetically have 2 toes on each foot.

I came here to find out their story, spread awareness about their struggles and learn what life would be like with this shocking condition. I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below - have you ever heard of the Vadoma tribe? What do you think about their feet?

  • I am Zimbabwean, and there has never been a conflict between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Well in recent history.
  • @mytonde
There’s no conflict between Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 and Zambia 🇿🇲. $125 for a permit 😲! You were scammed by both your driver and the officials. I come from that district and the major issue in that area is poaching that’s why there’s a lot of Police activity

This is why a diverse gene pool is so important to prevent things like this from happening.

There has never been conflict between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Zambia has always been peace. We supported our Zimbabwean brothers and sisters fight colonialism.

Drew, there's a reason you are famous but dangit I love the respect you show to people. I'd never heard of these Zimbabwean people and had a blast watching this video, learning, and seeing you caringly share. Thanks

Here in the Caribbean, there was one boy in the village next door, who was born similarly, with 2 toes on each foot, and and 3 fingers on each hand. He grew up doing everything that a normal boy would do, batting and bowling well when playing cricket. His writing hand was exceptional. He was in no way handicapped.
  • Drew your wife is an amazing woman, she's hanging in there with you, without complaining, without looking funny at the lodging for the night, truly an amazing woman. The people there are also amazing. The world is such a big place, we forget that there are people in various parts of the world who don't live like us. Your videos are so revealing about people around the world and that's a beautiful thing.

The Vadoma tribe was mentioned in the nature textbook when we were young, and we have seen their photos! I was very surprised at that time. My classmates had imagined that they were the descendants of bird-men and humans! Now we have learned that they are a very special group, and I hope they can receive the best care! Thank you for introducing them and once again bringing back the world’s attention and my childhood memories, super great job! 👍🥰👏
  • Drew's genuine respect for the Vadoma tribe in Zimbabwe is truly heartwarming.🙌
  • thank you drew, Zimbabwe is truly a beautiful nation, I know many Zimbabwean people from Harare now living in the UK and there among some of the most hospitable, nicest people. Its a nation with a rich, ancient history, diverse ethnicities and languages and some of the most astoundingly preserved natural landscapes and environments in the world. I love Zimbabwe from Trinidad 🇹🇹🇿🇼
  • Thank you Drew for giving the young man the bike, that was so nice of you! Wishing you many blessings.

We need to be grateful for the life we live. There's people out there who have it a lot tougher than us.
