Number 5 just sounds like what you always hear when you walk into Guitar Center.

wow...that whole comfortably numb band....just wow
  • Imagine the balls to play that shit in rehearsal and then be ok with getting on stage
  • Once at an open mike I watched a guitarist do a screaming shred-fest over "all along the watchtower" only to be told afterwards that the rest of the band had retuned back to standard tuning after they had tuned down a full step at practice and he apparently had not remembered to do so. Played through the whole lead guitar showcase of 10 minute solo without realizing nearly every note was garbage. Some people just don't have ears for it

The guy "singing" Pink Floyd is WAY worse than the dude on guitar. lmao

Lil Wayne's solo is the exact sound you get when you hand your guitar to someone who has never even seen one in person before.
  • The balls they have to actually go on stage to play like THAT IS ASTONISHING. I get that folks need to build confidence but they also need to be told ‘come back when you’ve had A LOT MORE PRACTICE’.

The best part of the Pink Floyd cover is people actually start laughing when he plays the solo.

I was in a high school band. We wanted to play Metallica at the talent show. I made a lot of mistakes but my band didn't seem to care. On the day of the talent show they told me they found a replacement. They could have told me way before. I knew I sucked back then.

I see Lil' Wayne is taking the minimalist approach to the guitar solo. It really delves deep into the psychological intricacies of the music industry and says a lot about society. Truly a work of art.

the bass player in number 3 was tenacious in his quest to find the beat
  • What really sucks is when the person who fucks up rips on you for doing fine. I was in a band for a live gig. The rhythm guitarist/singer wanted to do a song we'd not planned on doing, rehearsed once, months earlier, never really had, but he really wanted to do it. Sure. So, I joked aloud - I don't remember the chords, but I'll follow. It was one of our best songs of the night. The lead guitarist didn't remember it either, never sure when to solo. It was just the three of us. I was on bass and playing a heavy rhythm to keep the beat. The audience was clapping along. The irony - the singer had totally messed up. He'd skipped a solo, forgot a chorus, restarted a verse, and didn't know how to end it. Afterwards he ripped me a new one and how maybe I should have sheet music. Yeah, I got the song fine and kept up with him. The lead guitarist held back playing a few times as he was totally lost. But, yeah, blame me.

Lil Wayne reminds me of those times when I was REALLY stoned and the gap between two strings was like the grand canyon, and the strings themselves were like drapery cords.

Who the fuck gave lil wayne a guitar....
  • This has actually inspired me to go pick up the guitar again. I was never this bad!

Fortunately the rest of the band members' incredible performances totally saved Comfortably Numb.
