it is "officially" pronounced Tan-tiv-ee like I mention at the end, but I laughed when I was grabbing clips for the next vid from the OG Battlefront 2, and noticed the great Temuera Morrison/Retired Clone Trooper narrating the 501st journal says it the way I prefer, Tan-tiv. https://youtu.be/iWOq1Tg-Jdw?t=888
  • It's pretty crazy to think the Tantive was literaly the first ship we ever saw in Star Wars. It is truly one of the most important things in the whole franchise
  • It's interesting how the Tantive 3 was later renamed Sundered Heart and it's the ship that transported Padmé to Polis Masa. Padmé died from a Sundered Heart.
  • I can't imagine that 600 people could fit into the ship. There is just not enough space without additional modules. They would have to lay around even in the conference room and in the hallways. When i was younger i imagined the ship much bigger. But now we have the floorplans and its actually pretty small. And i like that. It must have been a more personal experience than in a Star Destroyer with thousands of other personal. Love that ship.

2:50 - escape pods cleverly disguised as cannon turrets... So, if the enemy shoots at your guns to destroy them (you know, normal behavior of any opposing ship, so that you don't hurt him any longer...) your escape Pods are gone - that doesn't sound very clever to me, more like a way to motivate the crew to fight harder ("they shot our escape Pods, we don't have any other means of survival - we will at least take a few more of them with us befor they get us!")

"The pirates have laser canons so you should, too... May the Force be with you." It's a great line. Real life equivalent: "The criminals have semi automatics so you should, too.." Heheheheh

The amount of Starfighters and Bombers I've shredded with that bad boy is beyond count. I loved this thing in EAW and it's sad we don't see much of it outside of EAW. And I never even knew it was called the Tantive III. So what's the Tantive I and Tantive II?

I gotta say that's one of the coolest looking SW ships I've seen.

I love this ship - have been waiting for someone to do a full breakdown on it for years!!!! Thank you for this video!!!!!
  • 12:26 Speaking of Leland Chee, he had some pretty curious comments as guardian of the Holocron (Legends continuity). Among his claims, he said that Palpatine lied when he told Luke in "Dark Empire" that he already died and was previously cloned before the Battle of Endor.

Such a lovely ship. I’d only we had more footage of that ringed design in canon.
  • @Techno_Bunny433
One of many missed opportunities in the sequels was not to include the sundered heart in any material

I liked one comic there, you can see that in an emergency only one (Han) is enough, it passed through the imperial blockade, the blockade, the load agreed until the last few shorts, it just fit the cr-90 :-D
  • @MrApplemat
Loved this ship from the first time I saw it in the movies I just wish they had given us a newer design in the new movies and shows.

Can you do a video with an extensive breakdown of The Moldy Crow, a heavily modified Corellian Engineering Corporation HWK-290 light freighter, please? It would be great to see one.
  • Tantive is one of my favorite ships in star wars l love this ship so much 😊

I wanted to see more Cr70s in Rogue one. frankly I think it should show up in the animated stuff in the clone wars doing what it's nickname states, running blockades. I think the history is that Alderaan bought a whole bunch to help supply the Republic troops by running CIS blockades and before the Rebels unified, by helping individual rebellions by supplying food and maybe secretly weapons , claiming to the Emperor that they were merely humanitarian purpose and for the civilians hurt by the rebellions. When Alderaan was force to dismantle their military, many of them disappeared to the rebellion. I can understand the lack of CR70s in the early movies, but after Lucas , is should be somewhat common. The rebels use a mix group of ships they can get their hands on.

I'm really curious what kind of modifications are required for that thing to carry 600 passengers. Seems like it would need some major upgrades to internal space.
  • @bioboy1819
I think the ship should have a higher top speed - both atmospheric and in space… the engine size-ration compared to the rest borders on insanity.
