As someone who dosent play competitive OW, i think bans are fine. People say its a cop out to instead of good balencing, but yeah thats the point. Balancing is hard, especially with the like 40 charcters and counting. Not to mention the dozens of maps, different skill levels, and game modes. OW will never be perfectly balnced (arguably it shouldnt even try to be). And yeah, this would suck for casual play, but i feel like it makes sense in competitive play. Id rather bizard spend more time working on new content rather than constantly tweeking numbers in the hopes of creating a balance patch that appeases the whole competitive community. But agin I dont play competivie, but i just wanted to get my thoughts out because I think it is an intersting topic🤷🏾‍♂️

I really hate this, every time Blizz has done something to limit the available heroes in some way it's always been to mask the failure of their balancing team to do their job correctly. If one hero or comp is so strong that you need to ban them altogether, that's a failure of the balancing team, not the hero selecting system. People are imagining it being used on unfun or annoying heroes, but actually I think it's more likely they'll use it on staple heroes like Lucio because doing so would basically stop the enemies from playing Dive or Rushdown comps effectively. They'll just figure out what hero is making the current meta comp playable and then ban it every match, and then both teams will just play the second best comp. This won't fix anything, it's just a band-aid solution.

That point about the squishies swapping to make the tank matchup work is so true. Rein sym lowkey stomps orisa even if the rein just has to sheildbot

Hero bans are a insane cop-out and a skill Issue For both the players and the devs who can't balance

And so ends Overwatch. I don't wanna play if I can't play my heroes. Its bad enough when someone on your own team takes your character before you. This will drive a lot of players away. The bot spam was bad enough to reduce my playtime already.
