This episode is from the 1996 Interactive Movie game "Star Trek: Borg".

Written by Hilary Bader, directed by James L. Conway, and featured an original score by Dennis McCarthy.

It is presented in first person like a FPS game, though it was a "decision" game, where you watch the action and make decisions at key points.

You are Cadet Qaylan Furlong, who meets a certain entity "Q" who takes him back in time to the battle of Wolf 359, where his father died.

Furlong is given the chance to change history and save his father's life.

  • It's almost like a lost episode of TNG... It feels good, as someone who really loves TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

These games may be old, but damn, they are so much better than the current ones. Its actually like watching an episode but you can jump in and be there. Its sad no one makes any of these anymore.

Q, impeccably played by de Lancie, is one of sci-fi's great characters.

I love Q's best line ever in this game: "Why?  Because I can!" XD  Classic Q!
  • @reedallen4613
I absolutely love Q's final line: "oops, I almost forgot" haha

I was searching for Star trek the Next Generation episodes when I found this. What a surprise. It's great fun, and John de Lancie, as Q, is brilliant as ever.
  • "If they court martial you, you can always say 'the collective made me do it" LMAO 😂😂😂😂 Genius!

Boy, this MUST of been a massive headache for Temporal Investigations...

Well I'm glad I stumbled across this. I'm a big Q fan and a HUGE Borg fan(I love malevolent villains) and I had no clue this movie/game existed.  It was somewhat entertaining. It was like finding a lost episode. Thanks for uploading this.
  • I love Q. He's like a big kid. I love when him when the Q Continuamin makes Q a human and he thinks he's dying, but Q is just getting sleepy.

This is smart, it gives the player realistic-seeming decisions, and it is infeasibly well acted for a 1990's PC computer game.
  • @albatani27
I love how Biraka was the only one capable of frustrating Q.

It's amazing to consider all the sets, costumes, models, writing and music that went into this production. Very impressive.

John must have had a lot of fun making this. Thanks for putting it together.

The number of views show just how loved this series was, you're a legend for uploading all the content together

When I first saw this I wondered why an omniscient and all-powerful being like Q will even bother with helping a no-name cadet save his father. But then, I realized... Since Q is omniscient, I will not be surprised if he is in fact aware that he is in a science fiction story. And that the cadet isn't just some no-name red shirt, but instead, a player character! And therefore, just as worthy of his attention as a protagonists on the TV shows were.

I played this on my power mac when it first came out! I remember being frustrated with not being able to get the computer core faster than the captain, but as it turns out, it was meant to be. As a child I found the game challenging and as an adult I really appreciate Q’s acting. Thanks for the video!
