When you listen to these songs, do you ever think wow, my grandparents rocked to this stuff,,,, and then think damn, maybe they were cooler than you?
-
TWO DRUMMERS, TWO LEAD GUITARISTS, RHYTHM GUITAR, KEYBOARDS, GREAT VOCALS...COMPLETE PACKAGE❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
-
If you like whipping post, listen to the live version on live at the Fillmore east!! I was in the audience (yes, I’m that old)
-
Greg Allman who sang lead on this was only 21 when this was released. His voice is so rich and powerful. This my favorite Allman Brothers song. I never get tored of hearing it.
-
Jessica. One of the best instrumental songs of all time.
-
This is music I grew up on. Can't imagine what life would be like without that.
-
Imagine discovering The Allman Brothers for the first time in 2019 and these young cats don't even know about the late great Duane Allman yet and just his story alone and his important place in rock and roll history from his early session work and his jam sessions with Dickey Betts and the great live filmed performance at the Fillmore. So much to learn young grasshoppers. Wait until they discover Layla.
-
Two drummers, two guitars players in the band. Another one to do: "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed"
-
I am so jealous of the two of you because you get to hear this great music for the first time. As much as I LOVE this music every time I hear it, I wish I could hear it for the first time again, if ya know what I mean...
-
Statesboro Blues and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed from their Live at the Fillmore album.
-
At :45 Andy was talking about what he expected. It was like watching a toddler about to get his first taste of ice cream.Bless your heart

The song was released November 4, 1969, written by Gregg Allman when he was 21. He was the singer as well. Gregg wrote this on an ironing board using burnt matches. He got the idea in the middle of the night and couldn't find a pen. This searing song is about a man who has been betrayed by his woman to the point where he feels like he's helpless - just tied to the whipping post, awaiting more punishment. Gregg Allman wrote it in Jacksonville in 1968, just after he returned from Los Angeles. Dwayne Allman played lead guitar.
-
"Midnight Rider" "Soul Shine" "Ramblin' Man"
-
2 guitarists, 2 drummers a bassist and keyboardist and all in their early 20’s. Have a listen to them live at Fillmore east. Try Elizabeth reed from the Fillmore east concert.
-
Duane Allman was simply one of the best guitarists of all time- probably THE best slide guitarist. Just ask any other guitar great you can think of. From his studio work, to playing on the "Layla" album with Eric Clapton as well as with the Allman Brothers, and he did it all in his short 24 years here on earth. My hometown is Macon, Ga where they lived, played, and where three of them are now buried. They will always have a special place in my heart.
-
I’m surprised you guys haven’t checked out Allman Brothers’ “One Way Out” at the Fillmore East, 1971. One of their best live performances ever, you guys would love it. Rock!
-
2 lead guitarists, 2 drummers, a bass player and the lead singer sitting at a Hammond organ! That's the Allman Brothers!
-
"One Way Out." By the Allman Brothers. When the Guitar's start Ripping, you should experience a boost of Adrenaline.
-
wow is an understatement. One of the greatest songs ever written!!!
