The mystical experience must be something that could only be possible after a long, tedious journey of disciplined and methodical practice of some sort. Alan Watts challenges this approach and explains, in his unique way of making complex concepts appear so shockingly obvious, how this is no so.

    "..as if the external world were my own body.." - Allan Watts. We remain part of the cycle of life and will be absorbed once more after we expire: Nothing is lost: It is an unstoppable process: in the end we all break down into our building blocks, into molecules and finally into atoms. Those same atoms form the basis for the creation of something new. Whatever you become, your existence is infinite - inscription in a Dutch museum. Once we accept this fundamental truth, we no longer feel alien in this world and much more comfortable in our skins. This is how I interpret "afterlife": living in a different form after my present body expires - continuing as part of nature, as indeed we essentially are.

    Amazing that 50 yrs after his death millions of people find solace in his philosophy I could listen to him another 20 yrs more if I had them I hope I do just to listen Although some of his talks are dated just because they are so old. I wonder what he would say about people that believe there are hundreds of genders and that one of those genders is fluid. and that a gender has nothing to do with biology and that men are equal in strength as a woman. What would he think about Bud light is no longer number one….regardless I will support his foundation till I die. His paradigm is the only one that makes sense and his roots in Christiandom is what helped him arrive at his paradigm. Rest in pease Alan watts and welcome back to who ever came or will come back.

    Since this is a segment of a bigger lecture, it would be good if you would also post the entire lecture and link to it. Then we could experience both and you could get more revenue from each. For the longer lectures please don't include added music. Thank you for posting this and the others.
