During a recent Morrowind playthrough I mentioned some of the creepy creatures found in game, so I decided to make a top 10 list. Never done something like this before. This is of course my personal choice. I didn't go deep into lore, just tried to briefly explain why I find each one creepy.

00:00 Intro
00:46 Dwarven Spectre
02:46 The Hunger
04:22 Grahl
05:49 Dreugh
07:27 Bonelord
08:38 Corprus Stalker
10:36 Ash Zombie
11:24 Ash Ghoul
12:04 Bonewalker
14:18 Ascended Sleeper

Let me know who do you think are the creepiest creatures in Morrowind? This is my personal choice. It was a fun list to make so I'll make some more :)

We forgot the creepiest creature of them all: Crassius Curio.
  • The dreugh are even worse when you consider that, according to old legends, they used to be a highly intelligent species that ruled the world before the First Era and served Molag Bal.

Morrowind had so many unique creatures compared to later installments
  • I remember being 12 and exploring dunmer tombs, opening a door and seeing a bone walker staring up the stairs at me. Next thing I knew I couldn't move.. Great memory.

I find that with the age of Morrrowind the old jenky graphics and animations only make these creatures more freakishly Creepy
  • The Udyrfrykte was the most terrifying thing I'd ever seen in a video game as a kid. It's a special, one of a kind creature but man did it give me nightmares.
  • I love this game SO FREAKING MUCH, and I'm so privileged to be able to play it and enjoy it such a gem, even though I didn't grow up with it, the atmosphere, the world building, the lore, the great antagonist that Dagoth Ur is made Morrowind one of the greatest experiences I had in video games! I can't imagine how magical it was to experience Morrowind back in the day.

I'll always remember the first time I ever encountered a Lame Corprus. I was on my way to the Urshilaku camp for the first time, and thought I had a handle on the game and what was in it. I was on an ash dune and someone had come in to talk to me. I was telling them about the game I was playing. I turned back to my computer to show them something, and suddenly there was a Lame Corprus in my fact attacking me. Massive jumpscare combined with "What the hell is that thing?!"

When I was a kid still playing on orignal xbox back in like 2003 the Ascended Sleepers really freaked me out. I had a nightmare once I was in one of those sixth house bases and all the red lights and bells were going off and no matter how far I ran the cave just got longer and longer and the Ascended Sleeper was right behind me the whole time.

Once, when I was playing as a kid, I was exiting a cave, and a hulking corprus monster spawned right on my head. Only time I've screamed playing a game.

Dreugh and House Dagoth enemies always gave me chills, but I personally found the Winged Twilight as a personal top for me. The eerie pained and fury-filled wail when not in combat could always be audibly heared and especially within darker environments. And when they see you, theirs hate filled eyes lock onto you with a single-minded focus to tear you apart. Also their screams following their devastating attacks really bring fear to lower level adventurers

The Daedroth always freaked me out when I was little, plus the fabricatnts in tribunal we're pretty scary in a "big robot velociraptor" kinda way! Love the format on this one dude, hope you're well.

*Insert "Cliff racer should be number one comment" here" Also this video really made me think about how they became even scarier within the atmosphere of the game. The dreamers where bringers of nightmares, but I distinctly remember getting (kind of) jumpscared by a bonelord because of them blending into the background and then having to load a quicksave after getting killed. Fun first encoutner.
  • Ugh. Bone lords are aesthetically the worst. If the player tries to get in a sneak attack he will never know how when it springs, and, when it does, approaches at such a speed that will terrify a level 50 character.
  • Morrowind creatures scared me a lot as a kid. It was a palatable horror game at that age, especially when you add in glitch jump scares (I had the Xbox version).
  • @dolgy3762
I think back in the day, these imperfect 3d graphics played a hand in making creepy creatures, even more creepy.
  • There are so many terrifying things that want to end you or make you suffer in Tamriel, it’s truly astonishing lol.

I love how these videos take me back to how scary my first playthrough was(besides the Xbox load times, which was the scariest part of dying), I don't know how much being scared was from being younger versus just not being desensitized to video game monsters. I remember waiting in game until morning before delving into tombs and caves, just because the thought of going in one at night seemed terrifying, not that it mattered in-game
