Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we a look at one of the most popular and controversial internet browsers advertised throughout your favourite YouTube channels. Opera GX is a gaming browser that seems to provide gamers with an unparalleled experience into the world wide web and with it's wild marketing claims I wanted to sit down and deep dive into it and see if it's even worth downloading. Thanks for watching!

"Gaming browser" carries the same weight as "blinker fluid"

There is a bad bot problem here. If you see a bot, DON'T REPLY, REPORT.

Microsoft Edge is NOT Open Source. The repository is only a license and readme file.
  • How do they make enough money to sponsor every YouTuber if they aren’t selling your data to someone?

As a rule of thumb, I generally slowly stop using free/freemium products that somehow sponsor a shit ton of influencers, not for any grand or particular reason, just feels like something's wrong.

Real question is are there still people that trust Google Chrome?

I love how there was audio of music playing in the background at the start of the video. Just loud enough that it made me look out my window to see who was so happy to share their music while in their car outside my house.

Also quick note: Their mobile version of GX is a barebones normal browser. Not similar to the PC version if you're curious about memory limiting features or the funky filters.
  • I don't trust computer, there's a lot of backdoor and vulnerability in the hardwares... And that's why I use only Stones🗿
  • @MrSTVR
But their Twitter PR is SOOOOO relatable and quirky, right?

As a Firefox heavy user, a RAM limiter and better identification of CPU-hogging tabs is something I'd definitely like to see.

At the end of the day, every browser is spying on you no matter how much they claim that privacy is important to them. It's just a matter of picking the one that you hate the least.

Opera GX: Claims to use less RAM than other browsers. Also Opera GX: Uses the most RAM out of all the browsers I've used. Edit: Yes, you can limit the RAM usage on Opera GX, but limiting it to below what it takes makes the browser nigh unusable.

The first time I heard about Opera was in 2011 in middle school when we had ipod touches. Opera was the work around we found to access facebook, twitter, and messaging apps on the schools wifi since that was all restricted otherwise on the network

In terms of the GX corner, how I found to disable it is quite simple, and you did half the steps when you were first talking about it. You toggle the setting to kick it to the sidebar, right click it from the sidebar and click "hide GX corner". You can still access it through the settings or by searching the page's url, but it's no longer clogging up the UI.

I'm a former Opera GX user, I switched to Brave 6 months ago and haven't miss Opera since

I really appreciate the fact that opera allows me to use messenger without opening Facebook
