  • I can't honestly think of a better country song. There's plenty of great ones but this is my number 1 recommendation when someone asks me about country music
  • One of the last outlaws left in country music. Regardless of musical affinity, everyone feels this song. Nice job mike!

Not really into country but seeing The Last Waltz with Jamey had me sold on him immediately. Truly a master of his craft. Love his voice.

This song always makes me cry... Love it dearly ❤️

14 years later and this song still gives me chills. The only thing wrong with this song is that it's not 2 hrs long. This was co-wrote (co-written? Idk) by Jamey, Lee Thomas Miller and James Otto. Jamey is my all time favorite singer, songwriter and performer. His shows are full of love, originals, new releases, funny banter, classic songs and a couple better-than-the-original covers. He's the perfect musician. Thanks a million for doing this one

I play this song at almost every acoustic solo gig I play & it almost always gets the most response/reaction.... everything from couples slow dancing to literally people in tears & holding up a drink while they sing along....one of the greatest songs ever written for sure

This song makes me ugly cry every time I hear it. My grandpa was from that generation and lived through all of that, up to and including marrying his high school love of his life during the war. I've got a picture of them on their wedding day, looking into each other's eyes, and he's just looking so proudly at her. He passed away almost 20 years ago, with a full military funeral. I was so proud to be there! I miss my wonderful grandparents very much and admire them for getting through so much hell back in the day. This song just brings their loss home. God bless Jamey for sharing this song with us.

Probably the coolest way to say, "You had to be there." It's timeless. One of the most relatable songs out there because everyone has moments in their life where you can't put something into words or a picture just doesn't do it justice. You just had to be there.

I remember years and years ago they did a countdown of the top 100 songs in country music history. Since then, this is one of the few songs that have come out that I would be surprised if it doesn’t end up on a future list of the best songs ever. It’s just… perfect country music
  • Michael. Long time watcher. Your passion knows no bounds sir, and it shows. Thank you
  • When I’m asked what’s the greatest song ever written, I always say In Color by Jamey Johnson, it’s about as close to perfect as you can get it
  • Man, chills every time on this song. My Grandpa was a B17 pilot in WWII from a poor town in Michigan.

I’ve met the writer of this song!! The story is amazing!! You should have seen it in color… in real time!! ❤
  • This is my first exposure to this song and this artist. Gave me chills. My goodness, I've been missing out.
  • From the first time I heard it and every time since….. I get chills EVERY time. It reminds me of my great grandpa talking about WW2 and the Great Depression. Love it

I've loved this since it was out and knew it was about photos, today I reflected my life and wondered what my life would look like in pictures. Interesting for sure
