I have a theory about why the characters in this game speak a seemingly made up language. My theory is that the language in this game is just English but 1,000 years in the future, like how Old English is unrecognizable from modern English. I think the Sims is actually a retro style video game from the distant future that is supposed to depict human life and civilization in the early 2000s. This also explains why there are so many supernatural elements; such as vampires, aliens, and ghosts in this supposed history game. The people from the future were having trouble discerning real historical events from fiction.

its just jibberish in an american accent
  • The oldest sims games had a more natural, funny and organic simlish. Trying to make it sound like some real language is just awkward. I still laugh listening to the first and second games exactly because of that. Sure, sometimes you hear the same words repeating but that's it.
