  • Thank you! :)

Ukulele lessons may not be commonly advertised but most music stores (stores that sell instruments and sheet music, not records) probably offer them, especially with the growing popularity of the instrument.

Still, it is a VERY easy instrument to learn on your own. I have been playing for about 5 years now, but I was already able to play several songs by the end of my first day. I highly recommend it to new musicians (b/c of the ease), but longtime musicians too (b/c it's fun)!
  • No problem! If you ever do take it up, I'd be happy to give advice and answer any questions you might have. :)

The only other instrument I play is piano... I'm not that great at it though, and I'm VERY out of practice. There are a few videos up here of me playing piano and singing. I'm not all that proud of them. I took lessons for several years when I was young but it was never really something I was strong at. Ukulele has turned out to be my calling.
  • No - there are only four strings on an ukulele, while a guitar has six, and the tuning is different, and therefore, so are the chord fingerings. However, in general, you'd go about learning it the same way you would learn guitar - either taking lessons, or looking up the information you need online (which is how I learned). Also, in my opinion, it's MUCH easier to learn than guitar. :)
