  • This is a 5 day backpacking trip in Rondane National Park in Norway. Rondane is a classic mountain range in the heart of Norway with a very rocky terrain and some amazing peaks. I climb Høgronden, one of the highest peaks in the range, and spend a few days sitting out a storm before attempting to climb the Smiubelgen Pass to get back on trail. I visit Rondvassbu and Bjørnhollia DNT cabins and explore some remote valleys, epic trip in an epic mountain range in the heart of Norway.

You are definitely an ambassador for Norway, Jarl. Beautiful valleys with majestic mountain spires. I loved the green rocks (lichen, I believe) with the river flowing beneath them, just stunning.

Gray rainy day in the Pacific Northwest, so nice to cozy up and watch your stunning video!

Climbed Høgrunden 19 years ago. I remember well jumping from stone to stone in that special landscape. It was July but we met snow flurries at the top. Thanks for a reminder of good memories!

The weather certainly made this part of your journey more diverse and challenging. But also so wonderful. I mean....the rainbows and incredible lighting...just wow! The troll hollows were amazing. I would have a hard time not exploring them and shouting, "Jeg er en trollvenn. La meg passere!" And hopefully, they would believe me. :) The rock formations were like stacks of lichen-covered books thrown everywhere. Incredible. Act 2, Scene lV (Among the Ronde mountains. Sunset. Shining snow peaks all around. Peer Gynt enters, dizzy and bewildered.) "Tower over tower arises! Hei, what a glittering gate! Stand! Will you stand! It's drifting further and further away!" As always, thank you for taking us along your journey Jarl. Looking forward to the next installment! :) ♥

When you were up in the heights in the clouds, I kept hearing "In the Hall of the Mountain King!" Grieg moment. Stay safe!

I wish to have a friend to go on a trip like this from Oslo.

Absolutely stunning. I slowly watched this on and off over 3 work days and it was a wonderful way to pull my mind out of work and back into Norway. I made some notes and will Definitely be going deeper into Rondane some day in the future. Cheers from Boston! - Filip
  • Amazing peaks you have there, very much like the ones here on Vancouver Island.

Imagine hiking up sparagmite is one thing ~ coming down must be another. It appears effortless to you ~ in your nature. The ancient geology of Norway's First National Park is simply out of this world. Sincerely hope you can film one of those trolls soon! Grateful to you for all this beauty you so generously share with your followers.
