  • I'm actually surprised there's never been a Warioware game for Mobile, since it seems like the perfect platform for it.
  • @sweetpea644
Charles Martinet not voicing Mario anymore is a real shame, but the realest shame is that he's not gonna voice Wario. And he was incredible.

When I read the title and I knew this would be based on the "Mario the Man vs Mario the Idea" essay, there was something I immediately began hoping for. as I watched. And I was so elated when it came true and I heard "perchance" right at the end of the video. Schafrillas knows what the people want and he delivers. Truly, he is the Greatest Showman.
  • @alfie4234
The “I’m just gonna make random Nintendo videos” part of Schafrillias’ career is one of my favourites. I hope this video does well since he clearly cares about this a lot.
  • @jsenn8140
Modern Schaffrillas just makes whatever the hell he wants and I’m all here for it

There's actually one thing Wario cares more about than money: a chicken named "Hen". She only appears in Wario Land 2. Wario literally stops pursuing bad guys with treasure to rescue her after she got startled and flew away; he's such a good chicken dad.
  • The way you described Warioware and how Wario went from *evil Mario* to becoming his own self-made identity straight up feels like a Pixar movie plot. The villain who's tired of being the foil and sideman to the main character, and decides to make a whole new name for himself. Almost kind of wholesome.

Wario the idea is perfection, Wario in practice is perfection
  • Wario being the embodiment between a man and an idea is one of his greatest achievement he has ever done, just like Wario Land 4 on the Gameboy Advance.
  • I honestly have been wanting a Warioware cartoon for the longest time, and think it would be an absolute blast to watch. The perspective of everyone in diamond city, there interactions with one another, all of it would be perfect. The volt families game related shenanigans, the Crygors making weird and unconventional machines, Ashley being an adorable and yet creepy kid who just wants to make friends, and of course Wario being the greedy glue to put them all together.
  • @FrahdChikun
Reminder that Wario canonically cannot die because he just doesn't feel like it.
  • @PARR-E
The whole argument of Wario's public perception of being defined more by his Mario spinoff appearances rather than his actual games, can very much be applied to Donkey Kong as well.
  • I like how spoilers are rarely a thing in Warioware games, because no matter what, it always Wario in some weird incarnation.
  • @EK24z
Wario World was actually my first exposure to Wario as a solo franchise. I'm glad it was, because it was a fun trip! It even gave us Wario's Back Throw and (sort of) his Neutral B in Smash. Now "Master of Disguise" - THERE'S the one no one talks about. THAT'S the REAL black sheep of the Wario Land series.
  • @boksman
Wario is easily the most deep and complex character in the Mario series, and that's crazy to me. He's not really even the "evil mario", he's more of an anti-mario. Aside from his first appearance, Wario is generally just a... guy. He's self-centered in some ways, friendly in others. He's got clear, personal motivation that he'll go to whatever length to achieve. He's got a whole separate friend group, a business, hobbies. He's nuanced enough to where you could put him in two similar situations and get a different, but consistent, result. He isn't one-note, he's a symphony! I guess there's something to be said about character flaws making interesting characters. Mario's kinda sanitized, not in the soulless way, but in the "he's the hero, obviously" way. Mario could not exist in real life, but Wario absolutely could. I hope, one day, Waluigi can get the same treatment. He's almost there, he just needs something to call his own to cement it. Not to mention the dynamic Wario the man and Waluigi the man could have together! Maybe someday... Also, just as a side tangent, Wario is kinda like what Luigi could've been if Luigi hadn't taken his role in the shadow in stride. I wonder what evil fucked up luigi would be like? I can't see it being Waluigi.
  • @DanGamingFan2846
I never expected a character analysis on this guy, but it's well deserved. He may have been intended to just be Mario's evil doppelganger, but he quickly became so much more. The antihero and microgame developer we all deserve. And it's time more people realize it.
  • Whoever takes over for Wario after Martinet has big shoes to fill, more so than the other Mario characters he voiced, because he really chewed the scenery whenever he got the opportunity, especially in Warioware Gold.
  • @hioman
Imagine being so mad at your bosses because they made you make a smaller game, that you give them the 5th most iconic videogame character of all time
  • @DogsWithPurpose
It’s funny to imagine seeing some guy on campus looking at the colors and just going “warioooo”
