    It’s a good analogy comparing a mirage to OCD fears. Although it’s not always that simplistic. When you experience an OCD fear about your theme, it can feel terrifying and consuming. Even though you know it’s an OCD thought, it still feels real. I’ve never experienced being in a desert and seeing a mirage so it’s difficult for me to compare. I guess it would freak me out to see a body of water where it shouldn’t be and to be rational enough to accept it as an illusion. With my OCD fears, thoughts I still feel that fear even though I’ve experienced it millions of times. My way of handling it is to make a choice to ignore it and move on from the thoughts without trying to figure them out or push them away.

    It’s funny how coaches try to logic their way out of things. You can tell people all day long that their anxiety is a mirage and they won’t comprehend it because it isn’t a lack of logic that got them to that point.

    My question if I can ask, once you are out off he loop and you can get over an intrusive thought but what is more bothersome is how you feel about yourself sometimes. Like, if I’m going to have these horrible feeling unwanted thoughts life is going to be too difficult. 🤷‍♀️
