OBELISK: A Lego Ship

Published 2019-04-10
I think the Obelisk is the first full-fledged S.H.I.P. (Seriously Huge Investment in Parts) I've ever made. That's a term used by the Lego moc-ing community to designate any sci-fi vehicle build greater than 100 studs in length. This is my first (soon to be my second, but you'll see I suppose) build of this size. And boy did I have fun with this. Every square inch of its surface is either smoothly paneled or thoroughly detailed, it has as many functions as I can possibly think to include, and it was a pleasure to have in my room.

Yeah.

The Obelisk was my prized masterpiece for many years.

Not much else to say.
Also, disclaimer: the writing on my arm is not a tattoo. It's a reminder that I wrote to myself in sharpie. Also, for whatever reason, I have never drunken alcohol. I don't know why I included drinking age in the video, but I guess it's more politically correct than "pistol-buyin' age". Turning 21 was more of psychological achievement than anything. I'm a MAAAAaaAaAAAaAANNN!

And to think the Obelisk was broken up at Sacredcow Shipyards, it was the last of it's class :'( (Really nice moc, the jump ring and landing gear system is so awesome, really need to get me some pneumatic stuff)

This is worth displaying at Lego conventions. Have you ever entered these in lego conventions?

  • Dude, I have absolutely no clue on how you manage to build these large scale mocs. Let me just say, these are epic. I thought my. Creations were decent, and then I saw this, and now I'm like "wow I thought I was decent" Keep up the great work! :D

You should make a space battle moc Edit:with your own custom ships
  • Awesome, I could actually see somebody building a real-life ship like this one someday. It functions more or less the same way as modern spacecraft, just with a more dystopian-future twist.
