  • Dev: hey Thomas, would love to be on the pod. Thomas: sorry, we can only chat if you have purple and pink background lights Dev: hold my mechanical keyboard, I’ll be right back 🔦👾🦩🧞‍♀️
  • I love to watch these interviews, this is my favorite content of your channel! Thank for this

So it seems like the key to getting those wishlists is simply having big streamers/youtubers show it. Mine have been going steady with Reddit/Twitter/Youtube/Facebook but it's been a slow crawl and I predicted it would do better.
  • That desire to create, that absolute NEED to create, is definitely something I relate to. My day job is a constant struggle, from the moment I get up to the moment I clock out it's a struggle. This is mainly due to the fact that it's not a creative process at all, it's mundane and droll and it pays the bills which I'm very grateful for. But the desire to create sits in my belly like a fire and I want so very badly to get this creative desire to work making something. I love when I can clock out of my day job and sit down to do game dev. I love writing lore, making 3D models, texturing, UV unwrapping, building the systems in UE5 and just deving. I can do that all day, almost literally. Yesterday I was stuck in my chair working on my game for about 7 hours straight, didn't phase me at all. Of course, when I stood up to stretch my body screamed at me (gotta remember to take breaks to get moving and not be so damn sedentary). I relate to that feeling though, so very much. Being creative and making things is vital to my life, it's what brings me joy.
  • As an inspiring Game Dev (currently learning Unreal), these podcasts give me hope, knowledge and the courage to keep learning and try my hand at it.
  • when working on anything, or these are important -- personal -- spiritual -- psychological health, or one could say sanity, or life - style

Thomas Brush is a legend, cant wait to play Twisted Tower
  • ngl, 8 months of development of my harvest moon + earthbound-like game and I'm quite lost and don't know what to do to polish it more, the more I play the more I feel bored. the project never had so many mechanics and content but still I think I felt more love with it in the first 3 months, idk, the progress were way faster coz it was just prototypes.

Hey Thomas! Over the last few months your videos have inspired me to actually make a start on a project I've always wanted to do but never took that first leap! As an absolute beginner I have spend the last few months planning, brainstorming. Basically building a Dev Doc for my game with my ideas. I've starting playing with the engine to practicing following tutorials and even had a go at getting some mechanics to work. I'm at a stage where i want to stare bringing my game to life. One thing I'm struggling with if figuring out where to start with 3d modelling. Obviously there's 100s if not 1000s of models that will be needed but its just figuring out where to start. Do i start with furniture, buildings, characters... Im using blender and again have been practicing following tutorials but now I'm at a stage where I actually want to start working my way through a list of assets ill need for my game but the question i always ask myself is where do i even start what model to i make first ect. I wondered if you could make video sharing your teams process behind this?
  • @Poltergeist88
Unfortunately I can relate 100% when you say that you're addicted to the process of making games.. I can't count the sleepless hours passed crafting the thing in my mind.. I think that it can be extended to the process of crafting and be creative in general..
  • I love the psychoanalysis stuff you guys get into :) I’d heard somewhere men in particular have a burden of needing to prove something, because men cannot create life into the world, so men forever chase proving their purpose, hence the competitive nature of most.
  • @marczwander893
Also not a gameplay guy and would also prefer watching a David Lynch movie ;) Great pod!

Got deep there with the God talks. I loved that part so much! Do you always go this deep with the guests in your podcasts?😅
