I’m 61 and still can’t hear this song without getting a chill.

The Great Algorithm delivered me to Elle's weird planetary poetry, and now I'm here grooving to a fabulous Pink Floyd cover. This rendition sent me right back to sometime in the late 1970s, the Los Angeles Forum, 12th row floor stage right, toking like a minute man, completely in synch with everything real.

This is a song that reminds me of the darkest period in my life, more than 50 years ago. It still brings tears to my eyes, because it takes me into the experience of how I felt and how I was then. It is the young adult that is still inside of me. Loaded with cocaine, other drugs and alcohol just to fight a devastating loneliness. It is so weird what music can do. Like Satie’s Gnossienne, that has the same effect on me. It brings a me back that I pity and can embrace now. This music is forever connected to that young woman.

I came in for the genius nerdy shorts on Elle's other channel, stumbled over the great Chuck Berry cover and became afraid to click at it when I saw this Pink Floyd cover. It was for no reason, because you guys did it perfectly amazing. Many thanks for that!

Bravo - you know this song was released Sept 12, 1975 - I was a very young 25 and now I'm smelling 70. It's like I went to this party and when I woke up - oh well nice to see the young generation still enjoying the classics - they will go on forever. You both gave an excellent performance - thank you.

My wife died 3 years ago and I always think of her when I hear this. Amazing song for an amazing woman.
  • @pkdude5334
I love how you sang the guitar solo along with the guitar just like David Gilmour does.

Y’all’s voices just cut through so beautifully , music just soothes the soul ,

I'm a "Boomer" (64), so like many my age who've been relegated to staying home, I've been spending the majority of my time on YouTube and the majority of that listening to music. My taste is as eclectic as it comes... a typical day starting with Mozart, to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, making a left turn to Miles Davis, Hancock, taking a 180 to Public Enemy, Tupac, and maybe ending up with some Dylan, and Neil Young. The next day it's a different journey, down different streets, but the destination is always the same...inner peace. Yesterday, the YouTube algorithm gods suggested "Reina del Cid" "Who?? Ok, I'll bite", I said. All I'll say is some 28 hours later I've listened to about 25 of their covers, followed them on Facebook, will join their Patreon page, and will wait with bated breathe for their streaming Bluegrass concert the end of this month. Their sound simply resonates within me in a way like nothing has recently. Such a pleasant surprise. Amazing talent!! Thank you!

I wish more people would understand that playing music is supposed to be interpretation not following precisely the dots. Well done girls! You rock!
  • @rogerdixon1069
The simplicity and pureness of your playing is like a breath of fresh ocean air. No amps, no technology, no vocal assistance - Jesus that was a joy to listen to. I REALLY like your interpretations and music. Wish more musicians were like this
  • @MrCox2121
Love this duo!! This girl has a memorable voice that makes every song she sings hers.
  • @bobbygrecs
Do you two even realize how good you are? Unbelievable!
  • @paulmorrell8323
This is the greatest song ever written and I'll never tire of hearing talented musicians interpret it and perform it in their own style
  • @mrwilson7617
Brought chills down my spine. Memories of my youth. '68 Mustang with my Pioneer Super Tuner playing this as loud as it would go. Good times.
  • @dicktaylor9054
An absolutely beautiful, very clean and personal version of a classic. This shows yet again how great music is timeless, and each performer can take it , make it their own and add to the rich tapestry.
  • @lancehaley9417
Wonderful rendition, ladies. I grew up in the 60s and 70s. That is my favorite Pink Floyd album. I saw them in concert on the Wish You Were Here tour right after the album was released. They played the whole album straight through, turned on the lights, took a 15-minute break - much to the chagrin of those of us in the audience who were not prepared to have the house lights come on that soon, and then they played Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. Suffice it to say, it was a very magical night which I will never forget.
  • I'm 50 and played Bass for a living for most of my life and you girls make me want to go pick up my guitar every time I watch! Thanks so much for every video!
  • @mcginnin6
Toni is really amazing, she always takes a back seat in the videos but she is the real star here, her playing is simply amazing, her singing is great too. Nice job!
  • Got chills from how smooth your voices sound. Very soothing and refreshing
