Thank you for holding. Your call is very important to us.

At the mall for the rest of eternity. Sleep at Orange Julius. Work out at Babbage's. Chill at Spencer Gifts. Study for the GED at Radio Shack. And, of course, the Food Court has something good for every meal of the day. I am never leaving. I can never leave. There are no exits. Everything I need is here.

I feel like a lot of us are resigned to the fact that things move quickly, but with the rapid technological shift in the past 3-4 decades things have been changing even faster than fast. I wish the 80's, 90's or even early 2000's could have stuck around a bit longer

The worst part about life and aging is realizing that your happiest most peaceful times were probably childhood, yet at the time, we were too young to understand what it all meant and just how nice it was. You begin to get the feeling of wanting to go back and relive some parts of it just to remenber what it felt like, but there is no way back. You're stuck here. We all are. We will never know the feeling of coming home from school, popping in Ocarina of Time and relaxing ever again. That time is gone and we can never get it back. I get depressed just thinking about how, no matter how bad I would love to go back, just to see how things were, there is no way I can.

Takes me back to those forgotten memories, that aren't even my own

I grew up in a poor town in rural Ohio with nothing on TV but PBS and a bunch of public access. Many weekends were spent with the TV on, me with my dinosaurs and coloring books on the living room floor, a cat next to me, windows open. This brings back nostalgia I didn't know I had.
  • Such simple tracks that some folks would consider "boring" or "background music" but the vibe is undeniable. It's like putting a microphone to your head and recording your memories of being a child, eating cereal while your mom gets ready for work with the morning news/weather network on the living room TV

This sounds like a very melancholic end of afternoon, like you slept until 6 P.M. only to wake up and realize your life has no meaning while the Sun sets
  • @cyb3rf0xx
eating at an expensive seafood restaurant where you need a reservation and the tables have white cloth on them and smooth jazz plays in the background as you watch the sun set

This serves me mid 90’s so well...I was a smart ass 4th grader. I used to call my mom’s job & bug her.... while I was on hold I heard this music . “Mama can you bring home some Wendy’s ?” —“yeah I can” “Thanks Mom” — “ Mama love you ok?” “ love you too mama”

4:30 am. Ironing my shirt and trousers. My coffee is ready. The kids are asleep but I always say goodbye before heading to the office. The sun is rising. "Gonna be a good one." I say to myself.
  • i can hear this intro without playing the album . its burned into my soul ,and ive listened to this countless mornings with a packed bowl lol
  • @CookinCrack
this speaks to the very depressed void in my soul
  • @grudgemonkey6590
listen to this at 5:00 am with nothing but the tv on for the full experience.

It puts me into a very aware sleep.. and it isn't sleep at all. I fall awake into being 7 years old again, leaving the PlayStation running while I am lost in thought for the countless moments. Menus and character dialogue that I don't read, flashing images, mindless progression, but mindful of a lot. A new place I've already spent a lot of time in.. huh..

Just found the sample for "The End" (20:56) : "Gerald Albright - So Amazing" (jump at 3:12 for the sample)
  • I just imagine the photo being taken a few decades ago and going back to see the dock to find out that it's wrecked.

Hey I see a lot of comments about nostalgia, and your best days being behind you. Don’t let your childhood be the peak of your life, life is so much more than that and everyone is capable of enjoying themselves later in life too. Every year forward should be a step forward in self understanding working towards your ideal life. Find the balance don’t drown in memory live like a kid even when you’re older I promise it’s not as hard as you believe. I have a wife and a mortgage and bills every month sometimes I feel the burden but I always try to enjoy what I have now to the fullest and act like a kid when I can.
