I've never watched so much content about draft like these days. Hope Montreal will love Slaf like we love him in Slovakia, he is a game changer!

Just a tiny detail for Shayne, Slafkovsky didnt put up 7 goals in 7 games at the olympics at 18, he was only 17 he still had a cage on his face! :3

Montreal scouts did good job researching Juraj. He was playing with 16 year olds when he was 14, putting them all to shame. Then he went abroad to Austria, Czechia, then Finland. All the while playing with older guys and scoring 1,5 to 3 points per game. Started playing with men in finnish liiga at just 17. Bear in mind that liiga is very defensive, and 1 goal games are common. He got attention of Craig Ramsay with performances in Slovakia U18 on world champs and Hlinka-Gretzky cup. Got called up to Slovak national mens team to olympics. The rest is history. And he's got such addictive personality, Habs fans are gonna love him for sure. If this draft turned only 10% of slovaks into new Montreal fans, you gained about 500k supporters overnight. Cheers from Slovakia. Go Habs Go!

Ok but after seeing Slafkovsky next to Lecavalier, all I could think of was that Caufield-Slafkovsky’s duo is the new St-Louis-Lecavalier’s duo

Habs just gained quite a legion of new fans with Slafkovský and Mešár. 🇸🇰

As a Brit and a new hockey fan, really enjoying the show and helping me to pick up and understand how players are traded and get my head around this whole drafting of players. Last season was my first year following so my depth of knowledge is non existent, but I was sad to see Romanov go.

I don't want them to trade Anderson personally. For years we've had no power forwards and now we have two; I don't see why we'd trade a big bodied 20 goal scorer who can also skate, hit and fight if need be. If a team wants to overpay for him then I'd consider it, but otherwise I still think he's a valuable player on this team.

Slaf is ready for the NHL, and St-Louis is smart enough to play him on a top line. Just for comparison, Tomas Tatar played with the Slovak National team at the WC. He's an experienced NHLer who just came off a decent bottom 6 15-15-30 season. He was 3-3-6 in 8 games at the WC and was second scorer for Slovakia. Behind Slaf who was 3-6-9 in 8 games. Slaf is NHL ready, and he's gonna crack 20 goal, and prolly add 20-30 assists for around 50 points at the very least this year playing with Suzuki and Caufield. He's made to play with them and will make them better. He gives Suzuki another option, he'll get pucks out from the board to Caufield and him, create space for them, protect them because he knows he's a big guy and he's protective of his teammates. There will be growing pains, they're all 18 to 22 years old after all. But that's they beauty of it. We have an amazing first line in the making, and they're 18-22. Solid offensive core to start a rebuild. Not to mention how fucking hilarious it will be to see Caufield barely reach to his waist when they group hug after a goal.

They not only messed up KK’s development, they nearly did Caufield too! DD putting him on the 4 th line and up and down to Laval. St.Louis is a saviour! He will develop Slaf and get the beat out of Dach! Future is bright for the Habs!
  • @davitong
Tears swelled in my eyes when Annik declared "We're gonna have a killer line with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield (and Slafkovsky). We finally have that first line that is gonna be competing!"
  • @dcl97
From a Wings fan...congrats on a great draft and having a GM with balls of steel. I think he picked the better player, but if he didn't he probably will be stoned to death and I'm sure he knows it. There is a reason why the team with no seasoned scouts on staff wss the one that jumped at Wright.
  • @ogie86
I'm pretty much the same. Wanted Wright so bad but the more you read about Juraj, the more you love the pick! Definitely rooting for this kid! He seems to have the personality to handle the pressure in Montreal and tbh, I see him as the next Lecavalier or a much better version of Josh Anderson. This dude will be a difference-maker for the Habs!

Wow what a great draft day. One of the best in my 40 yrs of watching, if not, most shocking anyhow. I think you guys did gd and got bigger overnight that’s for sure. Just wanted to say thank you to Habs fans for reassuring us (Isles) about Romanov trade. It came as shock, out of left field for us. I respect the fan history & knowledge you have. If you say he’s gd then we should be set for a while on our defense . Gd luck this year.
  • One of the best Draft I can remember, very classy, respectful and professional
  • @Vlado-id7wy
Slafkovsky had just 17 when he won MVP, not 18 🙂
  • @ScarletMoon18
I'd like to add my 2 cents on Anderson. Perhaps he was not consistent last year, but he was the only one doing the hard lifting. Now with Slaf and Dach into the mix, he won't be alone anymore. If only we can gey rid of Drouin, Hoffman or Dadonov and get a more physical winger, MTL will be a heavy team next year. Once Guhle makes the team and if Xhekaj too, it's going to hurt to enter the MTL D zone.
  • @justice4all526
Slafkovsky is from my country... Very good choice from Habs. He will grow to super player. In this age, what he do and can.... He surprised also me so much. ✌️
  • @tomleslie6668
Slavsquatch absolutely must become a thing. Hilarious!
  • @Cybothron
Imagine getting drafted with the Habs with your childhood friend, UNREAL.
