Famous dwarven last words before getting blasted off the mountain: "There's a chopper behind me.. isn't there?"
  • @lukysak1954
Peter said: We are just 10 years older... And it's 2020 now. I feel so disconnected from time and my real life as I watch these vlogs now.
  • @Coot
3:33 cracks me up with the dwarf and the chopper especially as the helicopter passes by and turns his beard and hair into a tornado.
  • Peter Jackson.... what a guy. Hero status easily attained and not just because it was Lord of the rings. He had me at Bad Taste. The improvisation, the creativity, the soul of it. His mum feeding the cast baked beans. The guy is my bloody hero.

"Because you're not allowed to see that until 2013" -is currently 42 days away from the year 2020 :o

I really liked that they minimised their impact on nature there. Tolkien himself was a nature lover and he would have liked seeing the Hobbit made with such care, I think.

What a treat these diaries are. I was 11 when The Fellowship of the Ring came out. The books and all of the films are such a huge part of my life I almost feel like I was there watching the production. If only lol it is officially my life goal to take a backpacking trip across New Zealand. I want nothing more

Thorin and his horse hair flipping made my day. It should be a hair product commercial.
  • @SuperGrizzly96
I love how the dwarf is almost blown away by the chopper

Majesty of nature: looking so real that one can’t help but call it fake.
  • I just LOVE how they built a huge boardwalk to reduce the impact on vegetation <3
  • @usemenoid
1:23 Thorin does a faboulous hair/beard-flip and the pony thought: i can do that better XD

I really love these diaries. It's surprising that more people haven't watched them! Thank you Peter Jackson for giving your fans such a nice gift.

Oh my, oh my. I work as a lone video producer, editor and filmer for a small consulting company and looking at these blogs just makes me teary eyed. Such a great team, spirit and professionalism is just something overwhelmingly inspiring. I'd give (almost) anything to be a part of a production like this.

after watching this i have a new kind of respect for the amount of work that goes into movie making and everything the actors to the produsers are willing to sacrafise just to entertain us.

Unfucking real how beautiful that country is, Romania is pretty wild and beautiful too, but New Zealand really takes the prize. That look of untouched wilderness, you expect a dinosaur to walk out of the woods or from behind the ridges.

The whole dwarven group is just awesome. They're so endearing. Must be one of the best characterizations processes ever done.

I may not have loved the movies very much but I sure am greatful for these production diaries. Thanks Peter Jackson for giving us a glimpse into what goes into movie magic.
