Alexandra "Alex" Scott was diagnosed with neuroblastoma before her first birthday. At 4, she held her first fundraiser, raising over $2,000 by selling lemonade. By the time she died in 2004, she had raised $1 million. Alex's Lemonade Stand has since raised over $300 million for childhood cancer research and support. Her parents join "CBS Mornings" to talk about her legacy.

  • I'm from Philadelphia and remember this incredibly brave little girl - Alex. What a sad and heartbreaking story. This family are true heroes.

I lost my 14y.o. nonverbal autistic nephew to this in 2011. I wish the resources to cure him were around then. So glad & thankful they are here now. No family should have to go thru this.

Rest In Peace and Power Alex Scott.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️ May you be continually blessed and sustained in your mission to fund pediatric cancer research and treatment in memory of Alex. I am a pediatrician and am touched by Alex’s and your love, generosity, and compassion for others as you struggled with, through, and beyond after cancer to survive and thrive so graciously. “Comes from good parenting, clearly’ 🙌 Yes. I was kinda wondering the same thing, ‘When did you learn to smile again’? Totally heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. ❤ RIP LemonadeGirl, your legacy lives on.

I remember when I first heard about her story when I was a kid. They were selling her lemonade at macys.

Wow, tragic obviously, but what a legacy to leave in only 8 short years. By raising 600 million from a lemonade stand, she has a higher GDP percentage than any two term American president. (8years) And a better cost to profit ratio than any fortune 500 company. What a little dynamo! This little girl Alex, is her generations Terry Fox. And I encourage everyone to watch the ESPN 30 for 30 Into the Wind. And hear the Terry Fox story as well. R.I.P. to both of their beautiful souls.
  • Well! I don't like story's where they Die, I'am sad😢💔🙏
