I just gambled on a $13,000 Shelby GT350 from the Salvage Auction (SPOILER ALERT: It's REALLY totaled..)

With 0 straight body panels and 1 5.2l VooDoo engine that is allegedly an oil down waiting to happen, you might be wondering why I found it prudent to spend $13k on it..

Well as it turns out, there's quite a bit of money to be made on Mustangs like this! As long as the engine is good, that is... So come get a peek into the world of salvaging high end sports cars (and also mustangs) to see if we can manage to stay afloat financially!

Got a Mustang rebuild story of your own? Maybe you're rebuilding a Cobra or GT500!? Share your story in the comments!

After cherry picking videos from the channel I thought I'd start from the beginning and watch the lot, including the videos I'd already watched. It took two full weeks but what a ride! You guys have great chemistry and it makes for some hilarious times! Can't wait for the next video, take care! 👍

That 350r took a pretty good hit but worth saving. Best spec (race red, stripe delete, R model *interior red accents*)

This is such a good episode! didn’t know watching a car get stripped for parts would be so good! You are confident in your knowledge, funny, happy cohost, honest and open financial info clean editing and the music intermission instead of annoying saw cutting was perfect. Keep it up!

The mustang went for the crowd in this one
  • I have a lot of experience with GT350s and 350Rs on track. I'll bet you'd have a ton of fun with the red car as a track car. Ford put out a fix for the oil filter harmonic issue IIRC. As for oil consumption, both cars I have experience with were warmed up gently, but driven hard once warmed up. Currently, the 350R has 10,000 miles, 3-4000 of which are on the track. The 350 didn't burn oil and neither does the current 350R. Oil changed before every track day with the OEM ford 5W50. That's my personal experience with the 5.2.
