I totally disagree with his argument on why he didn't help the Congress impeach Trump. It was because he had a book coming out. He didn't want to impede on its earning potential and this was a question he was asked in multiple interviews at the time...

Imagine a bank robber walked into a bank, demanded money and claimed he had a gun, then got caught because he hadn't thought his escape through. Would he be innocent of bank robbery because his effort was incompetent? The Jan 6 debacle is indeed the lowest point of American political history, ever. What always staggers me about Bolton is that he feels he is qualified to offer foreign policy advice on how to deal with dictators and despots whilst having such a poor grasp on how the narcissistic mind works.

Bolton knew exactly who Trump is when he joined his administration, as if Trump was such a complex character and so difficult to read. He helped to legitimise Trump and as a consequence he has some responsibility of the current state of the rep party and the extreme polarization of the american public
