Bought this cheap fishing boat from copart auction with hopes of bringing it back to life! The restoration wasn’t easy but the end result was so worth it and now I can go fishing!!

This is what I love to see. A boat with good bones, shouldn't be allowed to just rot away like so many of them unfortunately do. Not with the prices of boats today. I'd be proud to fish in that thing.

Nice job! Looks great. Just one suggestion. On the wind screens, sand them with 600 grit sand paper and spray them with two part clear. Will make the crazing in the plastic disappear. The black looks awesome though.

You definitely have something to be proud of. I hope you and your family create many memories in this boat. Tight lines

Man I really think you did a good job way better than buying a new one prices are crazy keep up the good work 👍
  • This is awesome, your dedication to turning this boat into what you have is awesome, thank you for sharing.

Don’t let your wife watch this video, once she finds out what this man is capable of, she’s going to ask, “and what can you do?”. This guy is dangerous! 🔥
  • absolute steal bro ! that boat looks brand new.... the fact that you got something that floats for 600 bucks, much less something you can turn into that is awesome!

I had the exact same boat but mines was a single console. I blew the engine and parked at my mothers home for 6 years. When she passed we sold the house and brought the boat back to my place. While trying to determine was going to put another engine on it or not, it was stolen from my house. It was in a little better shape than yours. You did a very nice job on the restoration.
  • My 170tf was blk w/red stripes. Great restoration! Brings back memories.

Really nice work! I'd love to see a total cost break down showing everything spent on improvements and overall expense. It's beautiful and really something to be proud of out on the water.
  • I just bought a 2000 that may cosmetically be in better condition but the previous owner gave me some of the exact stuff in the blue bottle and this has motivated me to go give it a shot. Great job with the boat, I’m sure it’s gonna be super nice when finished! 💪🏾
  • Wheel bearings! Just bought the Same boat. Only difference is mine is 115 Mercury. Same color even. Love how it fishes. Also for a short boat it rides awesome. Good luck with it man!
  • Nice work ! It looks great. Shows how far a little determination and elbow grease can go.

Looks great! Ive had the same boat for 10yrs and it has been great. With the 90HP I get about 45MPH out of it.
  • You've done an excellent job transforming it from a rough looking boat into an exceptionally great looking boat. Well done.
  • Thanks for the video, I'm presently restoring a Ranger 320V. Basically the same steps that you've shown. Looks great, wonderful job. Looking forward to your next restoration job. Thanks again for the video. 👍🙏😎😎🌞
