Wendy just started feeling like a completely different character once her voice changed, but I honestly prefer it. Makes her more interesting than just Stan’s innocent love interest.

Butters voice is the only one that actually got higher! I feel like before they were younger and focused more on making you laugh but now they can do way more emotional things that actually can make you cry and stuff “And pretend it’s a cruise” “AHHHHHH”

Doing the voices without insane editing would have done a number on both Matt and Trey's vocal chords, so good thing they went down the editing-in-post-production route, just so they can still keep doing their job as best as they can. Sad but true.

Tbh I like the later voices, it helps along with the evolved writing, animation and portrayal of real world events in making the whole show feel less juvenile.

Butters voice has actually changed 3 times. Mid seasons was the best. (The most popular) in the newer seasons he sounds to serious and more mature. Listen to his voice seasons 1-3 then 4-12 then listen after season 19
