If you're going to Charlotte Regionals this weekend, say hello if you see me!
-
Fun fact on the Net Ball, using Soak to change a wild Pokemon's type to Water will get you the catch multiplier, making them highly useful on all Pokemon.
-
Moon Ball in gen 2 does give the bonus. It just works on Pokemon evolving by Burn Heal. Yes. This is not a joke.
-
I'll never forget the blip in time where people thought it was a problem to use a Quick Ball on a shiny. If someone spends hours days or weeks to find a digital creature with a different colour palette, I feel like they should be allowed to have the highest chance of making sure that time wasn't for nothing.
-
I haven't used the dive ball since gen 3 because I never realized they changed the effect... THAT'S EMBARRASSING
-
Thinking about it, the moon ball should also have better odds against Mons that evolve at night. Would make sense
-
You forgot the two friendship balls. In gen 2 the friend ball is one of the better balls. It sets the captured Pokémon friendship to 200, and you only need 220 to evolve. Sadly this only works on Zubat/Golbat and Chansey, but still. And in gen 3 we got the luxury ball that doubles friendship gains.
-
You forgot the Beast Ball. In case it wasn't obvious, this Poke Ball is intended to work on the Ultra Beasts, which it gives a 5X catch boost. However, when catching other Pokemon, the catch rate is actually reduced (yes, REDUCED) to a 0.1X catch boost. This means that the Beast Ball is only good on 11 Pokemon and is completely useless on all the other 1014 Pokemon.

I just want to take a moment to appreciate the thumbnail art, where Pikachu disapproves of both options 😂 such a good easter egg
-
10:09 To be more specific: the Moon Ball is glitched because instead of increasing the catch rate of Pokémon that evolve with a Moon Stone, it accidentally does so for those that evolve with a Burn Heal. Which is none, sure enough.
-
Actually, the Moon Ball had an effect in gen 2. You just needed to use it on a pokemon that evolved using a burn-heal, how complicated can it be?
-
Ironically I have a Shiny Arcanine in Heart Gold in a Fast Ball... I plan on catching every one of my Shinies in Heart Gold in those special Pokéballs. My least favorite is Level Ball.
-
They should add a Money Ball. It acts the same as a normal pokeball, but you get rewarded with money depending on what level the wild pokemon is when caught
-
For the longest time I thought the Nest Balls functioned like the Level Balls, especially for how late you get access to them like you said. Was really annoyed when I understood how they actually work.
-
That thumbnail goes hard, fast balls are useless but aesthetically pleasing
-
Pokemon teaches us that being quick is good, but being fast is bad.
-
All the balls here are useful in raids, its a 100% catch rate regardless of ball, good for finding breeding stock for special balls.
-
To give some credit to the Nest Ball, it's pretty useful in the Sinnoh games since you can buy them as early as Eterna City.
-
for me i like using pokeballs based on the pokemons color and type like grass or green pokemon in friend ball
-
I love the luxury ball. I've caught Ultra Beasts in them because I like the design so much.
