Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by author of Not Zero, Ross Clark, to discuss Britain’s newly created state-owned energy company, Great British Energy.

Sir Keir Starmer warned it will “take time” to reap the benefits of clean power initiatives but stood by a claim that Labour’s plans will eventually drive down household bills by £300 a year amid confusion over the commitment.

The Prime Minister said the Government is “moving at pace” with the development of the publicly-owned GB Energy company but said “problems that have been left to fester for years” cannot be fixed “overnight”.

When a politician stands up and says he'll save you money...expect your bills to double.

Milliband should stick to playing his ukelele. He is useless as a politician.

Private investment means the Chinese will own the bits of energy production that is not owned by the French

I cannot look at this clown Milliband without thinking of Wallace and Grommet. He's an utter joke and has already failed miserably, why on earth is he back?

Albanese trotted out exactly the same lies in Australia, even the amount - he promised ‘cheaper electricity bills’ of $300 less. Of course their prices have gone up!! They don’t believe it, why should anyone else??

Ive never understood why net zero isn’t an argument of national security. To weaken our already abysmal industrial capabilities, and not put a dent in the global carbon emission footprint is beyond me. China produces close to 95% of all carbon emissions.
  • can't we build a giant hamster wheel and have illegal immigrants running round in it 😮

This reminds me of how we can all save around £25 a month on road tax if we buy an EV for £40k 😂😂

There is no such thing as 'net zero'. It really means '100% zero' and there is no such thing as being 100%.

We've had this BS historically. Bills went up in early 2000 for investments into renewable energy for cheaper future bills (utility companies even advertised this push on TV), yet our bills still went up through the roof and we've had zero reduction in bills!!

I love how they still haven't realised solar generation stops overnight

Miliband was asked a couple of years ago, in a tv interview, whether he'd got an electric car .........he said no, but it was on the cards, but he proudly said he'd just got an electric bike!!! As if that's more environmentally friendly than a bog standard pushbike. This is what we're dealing with.
