This is the type of content I'd like to see on the History Channel. Man I miss the days of modern marvels.
-
I love these stories of people that figure out ways to make a useful product out of something that would have been total waste
-
THIS is what they should be teaching us in school! why does it take a degree or a documentary to learn about this?

Aired on TV July 31, 2008. About time for internet. Still a great episode.

When i was a kid my Dad had a rule that I was only allowed to watch cartoons on saturdays. The rest of the week If I was watching anything it was these programs. I didn’t know at the time how great of a gift this was. A lifetime love of learning. Its incredible how much of this info I retained into adulthood. It has helped me so much in life.

Whenever I hear propane, I think of hank Hill.

High time this topic the list at M.M.! I learned decades ago that A LOT of the "stuff" around me (programming various robots: inspection, assembly, products, etc.) was derived from oil. After my colleagues & I did some off-site research, our list of "stuff" made directly or indirectly from oil was stunning! This video should be required reading before ANY student signs up for college or skilled trades of any stripe. Short form: NO, you cannot survive without petroleum, in medicine, construction, clothing, communication, or even that hot new Tesla (dragging around over 900 lbs. Of petrochemical products just to exist!).

This is one of the most interesting things I’ve watched in the last few years

Someone needs to show the Just Stop Oil people this
-
OK where is the outtakes and bloopers were the narrator can’t help himself and he says “ Propane and propane accessories”~ in Hank Hill’s accent lololol
-
Wish history still made decent shows like this.
-
I surprised youtube hasn't censored this ..... It's about Evil Oil?

And that's just a fraction of the 6000 products used in every day life around the world. Thanks for posting the video. Hopefully everyone can see how the industry effects everything around the world. 9:33 LS VORTEC Baby!!

Watching this as I'm stuck in the house because of the weather here in Texas.

Its the lifeblood of modern society. Nothing yet can replace it. Amazing .

The problem (for me) with recycling products is economy. My first exposure to recycling was when I lived in a small South Florida Town (Palm Beach County) and I was billed $25.00 every month as a recycle fee. How in the heck are we supposed to feel good about recycling when those doing the work of recycling are getting paid twice for their efforts while we as the donors are hi-jacked at the start of the process. By the way, I never put a single item into the orange recycle bin that was provided to me. I wasn’t going to buy into the hi-way robbery! What a ripoff!
