The 93rd Oscars blew the biggest moments of Hollywood's biggest night. In this video I share my thoughts on the ceremony, the winners, the losers, how it was historic, how it was bizarrely different, how the ratings hit an all-time low and how it had the most anti-climactic finale the awards have ever seen. What did you think of this year's Oscars? Let me know in the comments below!

  • Hollywood and the Oscars died the minute they forgot they're supposed to entertain us, not "educate" us.
  • @oskari7121
What makes this even more awkward is that Hopkins would've given the speech via zoom, but producers said no. What a way to risrespect the legend.
  • @timboll1
Ricky Gervais tried to warn them last year at the awards show, but they didn't listen. Now it's all blowing up in their faces. Good riddances.
  • Part of the problem is the awards feel somewhat meaningless now as you never know if someone is winning because they deserve it or because the academy have to tick a certain number of boxes.
  • @DA-bm2mj
What was weird to me at this Oscars is that there was no voice-over telling if the winner has won Oscars before, like "this is her 3rd Oscar and 4th nomination". The winners just walked to the stage in total silence, which was weird.
  • @janibeg3247
why the oscars failed: 1) nobody saw the movies due to lockdowns, 2) the movies themselves lacked peoples' interest, 3) the show itself was uninteresting, 4) it needed a comic as a host.
  • @frankko1106
None of the actors made a speech about the homeless people who were moved out of Union station so that these millionaires could pat themselves on the back for how great they are.
  • @iainsmith638
To be honest, Anthony Hopkins deserved his Oscar, he was incredible in the father

A lot of us didn't watch the awards shows this year on purpose, because we're sick of being preached to - especially their politics. They're being awarded for being good actors, singers, etc. They are not being awarded for being better or smarter people. They may see themselves that way, but we don't all agree. They can keep patting themselves on the backs without us.
  • @nunyabidnis5407
I don't watch shows where people imply that I am terrible and they are wonderful.
  • @JulesFox
"Possibly the first person to accept on Oscar in his sleep!" Classic. You did a great job with this review. Hopkins is a class act.
  • @lobbyskids2
I just don’t think people like watching a bunch of millionaires pat themselves on the back whilst talking down to people just trying to put food on the table. It was just too woke and too cringe.
  • @sandraneri3665
I miss Oscars in the past when they had someone telling jokes, when somebody was singing to the people out there, like entertaining the actors and the people who are watching the Oscars that has all changed three years ago it has changed before the pandemic hit.
  • @WildwoodClaire1
The Oscars were cheap-looking, devoid of humor, sanctimonious, and interminable. And with the new rules for Oscar-nominated films, we can expect even MORE movies, in the coming year, obsessed with virtue-signaling, depressing subjects, dirge-like pacing, and replete with incongruous casting choices to meet racial, ethnic, sexual-preference, and gender quotas.
  • @RawHeadRay
Boseman was a class act, not sure he would be as thrilled in spirit about a “cos you died” Oscar as it signals an insincere gesture reaching for some fabricated integrity, His work is best awarded in life to be accepted in good faith. Hopkins is alive, he can experience the sincere gratitude although weighted heavy by his own desire as an actor to see Boseman awarded, but Hopkins you see is also a class act so this award I feel is just.
  • You know the oscars are history when you've never heard any of the movie titles or the names of most of the people.
  • @ljpeach5093
Ricky Gervais told them the real deal but they didn't get the message! Who wants to listen to a bunch of Narcissists tell you what you should believe!!!! Tyler Perry was the only one who had anything positive to say. He received so much backlash for speaking the truth. They are all so self-involved.
