Anyone saying that Eric went too far is taking his response at face value without considering the clearly visible aggressive tone in Piper’s comment. Things can get blown out of proportion so quickly when it comes to creators taking advantage of their audiences, and I personally see 0 problem with how he rectified it. It’s ridiculous to me how Piper very clearly was accusing him of being greedy and dishonest and y’all just want him to chill and play it on the back foot. She literally made an implication as if he cheated them out of the money and used it for something they didn’t intend, expecting him to be passive is complete nonsense, I’m sure him and Noah cleared it up but to pretend that Piper’s comment is not the sole problem here is straight bonkers.

In response to Eric wanting discussion on the topic (I can't find that comment anymore). 1. It was poor judgment on her part, yes. 2. However, you, as the owner of this channel with a following, have more influence on people's perceptions, generally on food but not limited to it. You can also influence your followers' attitude towards a certain event, in this case this misunderstanding. This following sometimes means you might want to consider taking the tone down even though you have strong feelings on a topic, because it can cause disproportional effects you did not consider fully. It comes with the job once you put your face out there in public. 3. You have all the right to defend yourself and your work. But how you do it will influence your followers. In this case, hateful comments towards those involved. 4. Which has become very easy because you have singled her out in a public forum where her youtube account can be targeted. 5. In Noah's case his full name is on display in your video. 6. I genuinely believe that you do not want bad things to happen to anyone, especially due to a misunderstanding. I do not believe you actively want those involved to be mocked in the comments section. But this is exactly what is happening right now. Which is why you might want to tone down your reactions and sometimes stop to think about how to address allegations, whatever they may be.

Also listen, I can understand why you are upset w her for accusing you of that, it is never nice to hear, especially when working in a creative profession as you do, but I feel like it was kind of unnecessary to air it out to the extent that you did. At the end of the day the comment she left was left with my self-interest in mind, rather than in an accusatory nature. We would definitely like to extend our apologies to both you and Viv, but what I will say is that this should not have gone as far as it did and it is upsetting.
