I love my base, plain-Jane 2001. It's 18 years old, but it puts a smile on my face every time I turn the key! I'm not embarrassed that I'm not driving a C6 or C7
  • C5 is one of the best looking Corvettes ever. I know the C8 is awesome in every way, but I still love the sight and sound of a clean C5 rumbling through town.
  • My favorite corvette, the C5...love those pop up headlights and those smooth lines!
  • Bought my C5 convertible in 2002. Has only 30K on it but I'm retired now and the mileage will go up. Love it, still get a thrill every time I drive it!
  • Do I love my C5? Well I ordered it from the factory in Feb 2001 and it arrived in June 2001 and I last waxed it Aug 2018 :). Euro A&B packs and 6 speed manual. So it has been my daily driver for 17 years and 155,000 mile. Dammit of course I lurve it!!
  • I have a red 1997 Corvette C5 which was the first year of them and I get compliments on the car all the time when I drive it. The Corvette C5 is an older car but it has aged well and engines are easily modifiable.
  • The C5 is and always will be my favorite corvette generations. I have a 2004 and I am absolutely in love with it.

I've got one of these. 2000 targa. Absolutely my favorite car for the money. Likely will keep it for decades.
  • Its not dated to me...its a near classic..for its time interior is great n today it still looks great. You cant compare it with a digital info system..its analogue gauges are perfect..thats what you want in a sports car..Exterior brilliant..
  • You keep saying it looks dated, in my opinion it's a great combination of new & retro. Especially how clean yours is panties will always drop to this car regardless
  • The only "dated" thing about these cars is the stereo/head unit and the HVAC head unit. Change those and the car still looks very modern. And the body has a timeless design. Btw, very easy to change the antenna to a stubby one for around $5.

Best feature of my 2000 C5 is the fuel economy. When trying (lugging the engine, coasting, etc) 37 MPG is obtainable. That said 24 MPG is easily achieved. There is just something about the small V8, weight & gear selection in that car that make it a fuel sipper. The heads up display is a very useful feature not included in my 2017 luxury vehicle. You get to keep your eyes on the road when shifting for power since the HUD includes a tach. It was not standard equipment in a 2000 C5 Vette.
  • Great video I certainly love my silver bullet 2004. T Top, with both roofs, have had it almost 10 years now. still stock and lovin it
  • I have an ‘03 Z06 with only 43k miles. You’re welcome to take it for a spin next time you’re in the Sacramento, CA area. It’s a torque monster with responsive steering and the classic “coke-bottle” shape.
  • Great video TFS!!! Looks awesome in red.. my friend has a silver convertible C5 2004 and he loves it..
  • I drive a 01 base C5. Love it. The headlight are a pain and a constant source of frustration. The only sour point on my ride as I've changed both headlight gears (common upgrade). But that's it. Other wise for a 17 year old care it's pretty solid. Got it with 35K on the clock a few years back for only 14,500. Reason is it's yellow. Not a popular (or as popular) color but this car pulls yellow off really well. Not many cars can but I still get a ton of looks and compliments on it. Non-car people have no clue how old it is and most are shocked when I tell them it's an 01. Looking to upgrade to a C6 GS next year once they drop into the high to mid 20K range. These car (C5 and earlier C6's) are the steal of the century IMO. Dirt cheap, mostly babied and never driven in snow (or rain in some cases lol).

Great vid. I love my ecs blown 2004 z06.
